I thought about a new kind of counterplay to mobile champions.

What if we add a new kind of spell/effect called "Curse" :

  • When you move you lose HP (or mana/energy ?), so if you dash you lose more hp (based on the range).
  • (EDITED) To stop the malediction you have to go back to the fountain OR wait X minutes

It doesn't need to give heavy damages, the goal is to annoy the enemy champion by forcing him to make hard choices.

Your opinion ? Better idea ?

a curse mechanic seems like an interesting addition to the game

different curses punish you for doing certain things.. using an ability, auto attacking, moving(?) like in pokemon lolwat even the debuff could vary, decrease move speed or mr/armor or deal damage to mp or hp.. dont really care doesnt necessarily have to an idea for countering mobile champs inb4 curse champ concept

I find it interesting how a lot of league players will take concepts from DOTA2. Bloodseeker Rupture anyone?

Anyways it is an interesting way to counter mobile champions. However there is no way it would be permanent until you back. Second, this doesn't solve the mobility issue if only 1 champion has it and it is fairly specific and unique making it difficult to give multiple champions.

I could maybe see it as an item, with a short duration and maybe as an AA modifier. Could be an interesting idea on an ADC/Bruiser as well. Sorta like the reverse of Frozen Mallet. However I can also see maybe having an AP version that could proc off spells. Could be a little strong that way though when stacked with other items like Liandries, so idk.

An item with this effect would probably fit best though.

Try X seconds. Maybe 7. I think 7 sounds good. It could be a pretty good effect with a 7 second duration.

If it's permanent until you back, it doesn't counter mobile champions. It counters anyone who needs to move around the map and use time efficiently, and that's pretty much anyone. I'm not going to use it just to counter mobile champions. I'm going to use it on their support to force them to back or lose health while roaming. I'll use it on their jungler to completely screw their farming. I'll use it on their ADC to hurt them as they push and walk. I'll use it on their immobile mage mid to punish them when they roam. I can think of no one I don't want to cast this on. The fact that it works very slightly better against mobile champions is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned.

It would absolutely have to be less permanent than that. But the concept is certainly interesting. Perhaps it could be an active item that applies this debuff, and for a short time, using any dash/blink ability would slow you by X% for 2 seconds.

Needs to be way less permanent since that is incredibly stupidly powerful.

Also the champion needs to not be mobile themselves and probably needs little damage outside of the curse effect since it'd punish everything.
