pair ups
hi everyone, first of all, id like to say any and every opinión is welcome. okay, now we can get into what i mean by "pair ups"
basically it's just like coaching, with a mentor and a student but with the whole league community participating, while also having the ability to opt out of it. this would give new players as well as already regular players the access to something very similar to "coaching" but without the expenses.
so who would be the mentors and the students? students, well anyone can be a student as long as they're eligible. and what determines eligibility? the lack of suspensions(bans) and restrictions. and who can be a mentor? so this ones the tricky question, and after giving it some thoughts the limit to who can and can't be a mentor would have to be people from silver1-challenger can be mentors as long as they too are eligible. people from silver1 and below cannot be mentors, but can be students.
why can silver 1 be mentors but not silver 2/3/4/5? there is a few reasons as to why silver 1 can and the rest can't, they are the following:
- it mostly has to do with silver 3 and below are where a majority of the new ranked players end up in
- they are able to recognize mistakes from lower silver-bronze and even help them climb
- there are a lot of players in silver (it's not that silver 2 players can't, but i felt like picking the highest one was much safer)
how would it work for the rest of the tiers? it would work similarly to how ranked works, and example of this would be: gold divisions 3/4/5 are unable to mentor their own league, but are able to mentor silver divisions 1/5 and bronze divisions 1/5 gold division 1/2 are able to mentor divisions 3/4/5 and are able to mentor silver/bronze.
why can divisions 1/2 mentor its own league? it has to do with a few reasons, usually divisions 4/5 are filled with people who are still new to the league, and division 3 is about where the league really starts, so this means divisions 1 and 2 have much more experience and were able to climb well out of the first few divisions.
so that's about what it is and how it would work, but now what does this idea really bring to the table?
- it will help bring the community closer
- it will help the people who are striving to climb
- it will better the game for newer levels, if they can be paired up with someone to play with or ask them questions about the game,
there are also bad sides to this, which would be that it's very hard to achieve, and of course people tend to find exploits and such, as well as trolling and all sorts of negativity
also, sadly this is just but an idea that most likely won't ever happen nor be implemented or truly considered, but wondered how many people would enjoy this.
tl;dr there is mentors and students anyone can be a student (unless has bans or restrictions) mentors can be eligible from silver1+ (" ") mentors work depending on ranked, if silver1 can teach silver3-bronze (same for the rest of divisions) helps people who cant afford coaches, helps people find friends while learning the game
