Is it really a nerf? I thought it was a buff to jungle Cho'Gath

Dankest of Meme11/26/2014, 4:20:32 AM12 votes

Can we also mention that with the new health buff to minions he can no longer 1 shot canon minions with his feast

Kuroi8611/26/2014, 1:24:06 AM10 votes

Actually, looks like a bit of a buff, makes stacking feast a lot easier.

Velasan11/26/2014, 2:44:34 AM10 votes

Already played some cho'gath today and didn't have any problem with it. In fact it was indeed easier to stack.

So, idk why it's heinous or a problem...

it's a buff to his somewhat weak early game, and a nerf to his late-game teamfights.

I'd probably say it's a net buff since you can stack feast faster if you're in an unfavorable lane matchup, and as others have said, it was a clear buff to Jungle Cho.

Hi guys, some of you may be thinking that this is a buff, but think about how that 80 CD will play out when you hit 6 stacks.

Is that increased cooldown really a issue? and if you use it on minions or monsters, the cooldown is 40 seconds, wich is actually quite nice for farming and stacking up his health. Though even if it's strong to use on champs, it's hard for most people to chase people down as cho.

He doesn't need a sidegrade that may or may not help him.

He needs buffs. Unconditional buffs.

NinjaToad9911/26/2014, 1:34:18 AM3 votes

How about we fix Cho's Q hit box before nerfing/buffing him ok?

California Ice11/26/2014, 5:00:12 AM3 votes

Not to mention, he also loses half of his sticks if he dies. So if he wants to gain it back for a team fight or another objective, he needs to wait a good 80-100 seconds to get fully stacked. That's also including CD.

MacbethAndCheese11/26/2014, 3:15:51 AM2 votes

Its a massive nerd, look at the other thread he links, it explains it all in comments and such!

Toa of Death11/26/2014, 4:57:11 AM2 votes

His ult is all they seem to care about. What about his other abilities? make Q give vision again and try to explain where the hell those spikes come from. Only complaint with W is sometimes it won't do anything even if it clearly hit an enemy no silence or damage. It doesn't happen often just one of those once in a long while bugs. As for his E, I don't know. It doesn't really do much anyway, other than give a little extra harass whe you aim it rught

Government111/26/2014, 5:13:07 AM2 votes

Agreed. This is a large nerf to any Cho player that doesn't like to play passive. There's just too much risk going for a kill when the cooldown is 80 seconds.

alonzo07059211/26/2014, 3:23:28 PM1 votes

Oh please, I wouldn't call this a nerf. To get to the six stacks, usually, it has to be used on minions first.

A Slime Appears11/26/2014, 12:50:30 AM1 votes

If I WAS going to nerf cho'gath, I would have hit his obnoxious lane sustain he gets for doing something every champ already does.

This...is quite an odd change. Why?

Keyoshi11/26/2014, 3:07:17 AM1 votes

You people need to shut up, This is clearly a buff, Being an 80 second cd and using your ult to kill something reducing it to 40 sec cd, You guys seem to forget that chogath for late game, gets a 40% cdr with the right build. if your killing people with your ult your actually gaining a less cool down. WIth cdr you wont even notice this. Quit bitching. It's def a buff.

Wise Squirrel11/26/2014, 3:12:33 AM1 votes

It rewards getting tankier instead of rushing for those champion kills.

Boo hoo?

California Ice11/26/2014, 4:55:36 AM1 votes

His team fight potential is actually VERY strong, if you manage to get a good knock-up; you can follow it by a 2.5 second silence. However, I don't agree nerfing him because he requires a huge skill cap. I don't see any players playing it below plat, and when I do, they build him wrong/ can't land a skillshot. ):

California Ice11/26/2014, 6:01:43 AM1 votes

I'm just stating it.

SpecterVonBaren11/26/2014, 7:22:38 AM1 votes

Clearly Cho is just trying to change himself so he can get bigger more often to impress our first female Void immigrant.

HeadHonchkrow11/26/2014, 7:55:25 AM1 votes

Yes! You sir, have my approval and my upvote as a Cho main!

ZzEslIolZQ11/26/2014, 8:15:15 AM1 votes

The people saying it's a buff have no idea what they're talking about. No, Cho isn't meant to be played like some turd that just farms and saves R for minions, not even jungle Cho (WHICH NO CHO PLAYER WANTS TO DO, AT ALL, CAUSE IT'S BAD).

The fact that the minion R cooldown is still 40 seconds (Yasuo's ult has a 30 sec CD) just tells you how confused Riot's balance team is, you're still wasting massive amounts of time if you want to build stacks and you're now gonna get punished for actually using your melee range single target nuke ult to actually kill somebody. The entire identity of Cho right now is his burst with R, for early game kill potential that can snowball this outdated mess of a character to relevance. His W is still wonky so he can't legitimately combo Q + W and since Riot refuses to fix his Q (hitbox and old 3 second slow) or stop the mobility creep his CC isn't even all that devastating anymore. His sustain was nerfed 2 seasons ago and really besides surprising the inexperienced with Cho's R burst and E dps it's like they don't want Cho to be able to do anything but wallow in mediocrity.

Man I guess we should be thanking the league Gods Riot's laziness has kept Cho from their infamous rework table.

And Cho's early game isn't weak. He's not Nasus. He actually has kill potential in a ton of match ups. But since no one at Riot plays Cho so it's like w/e, he can't do anything early anyways lets just piss all over him hurr durr. Or maybe this is the problem. They think Cho R stacks are somehow equivalent to Nasus Q stacks and that's all Cho should do, get a bit of HP and I guess u just win the game.

EDG Cleanlove11/26/2014, 10:14:17 AM1 votes

Lol... So when Jax got nerfed and lost 200+hp and when Kayle got nerfed like 6 times, nobody even batted an eyelash. But when Cho gets a nerf/buff on an ultimate that was already on a very low cooldown, now it's an uproar? Jesus it doesn't make that big of a difference, Cho's ult is still on a lower cooldown than pretty much any other top laner already.

BLU Medic11/26/2014, 12:57:31 PM1 votes

Cho'Gath reaches 6 stacks. Vel'Koz, with his passive, laughs.

WooBeeWoo11/26/2014, 12:26:15 AM1 votes

Why are they doing it in the first place?
