Velkoz So I just got Vel Koz not so long ago, and I hear that you should be good with angles to do well with him. I sometimes just try to fake the other person out with the Q and then use his E, following it up with his W, and then his ult if they are low. I would like to hear how you guys use Vel Koz, either by using mostly angles and geometry, or if you have your own method. I may just need to practice more with him, but I would like to know other ways of using him. I would love to hear your ideas bellow! :)

(This may be not one of my best discussions, sorry!!!)

Normally when I play as Velkoz I use geometry and angles. However, sometimes I just do whatever I can to land a kill. Try to use your Q at an angle so you have a higher chance of hitting the enemy and get more range on it. And, when they get low, I just ult them to death!

poke/whittle them down. Forcing them to back or die to a full combo rotation. I probably don't use the q angles as effectively as I should.

For the most part, all that stuff about Geometry and angles is just to make fancy plays with his Q (like, effectively doubling the range on the projectile to hit someone out of reach, so on). To just use the champion, you need to learn how to combo your kit together, and use it effectively. Once you have that down, you can worry about angles (really only applies to Q), and how to hit people where they wouldn't expect you to.

You don't need to be a master of geometry to be good at vel at all. Just know that if you are trying to hit an enemy know that you can do it 2 ways, hit them with the first part f Q or with a split off. The split off is always perpendicular to the first shot, and you can make the split off happen any time by hitting Q a 2nd time. You can use this to hit enemies around the minion wave, or you can shoot it into e JG or a wall to surprise them. Just imagine the Q like a T, and try to line up shots with the top of the T, but keep in mind that you don't have to do that.

What you really need to focus on is maximizing your passive and your CC. As long as you can hit the enemy 3 times with abilities or hit them with AA to sustain the stacks when you can't use an ability you will do fine. It terms of using CC it depends on what you can start out with Let's say you use Q first, it's one of ur longest abilities and it has a slow. If you hit the slow you shout follow up with W so you can get 2 rounds of damage. Immediately after W use E for the knock up which practically ensures W's second wave of damage, and then right after E use W again.

Another combo is E (because you can use it through minions)>W>Q>w Basically spread your W between the other abilities, Vel is a bursts champ and can throw all his abilities out at once, so if you want to go all in ur gonna need all abilities off CD

The best time to use your ult is after a Q>E combo. Because the slow from Q persists after the knock up, which practically ensures that the enemy takes the full blow from R

max W first if mid lane.

max Q first if support.

initiate with your E, then W -> Q -> R for the kill.

miss E? revert to poking and farming.

if you can get a linear shot off for guaranteed Q damage do it, if you want to juke/mind games aim to the left or right and end early/late. if you are going for the snipe because hes out of direct range, then aim way left/right (but not more than 45degrees)

Personally I like to max Q for the nuking damage even in mid. Use your E and w at the same time to get all 3 stacks of your passive hit them w/ q and then ult for the kill. that combo will blow most mids out of the water.

Also when chased save your e for when enemies get close to you as it will also knock them away. Kite w/ q then w to maximize your passive and always try to start ulting after the have one stack of your passive as ur ult stacks it 5 times. Your passive also has no cool down so the more you chain your spells the more damage you get. Total possible stacks

Q 1 W 4 (both w's both procs) E 1 R 5

10 times round

takes 3 to proc

3 stacks of passive roughly 350-700 free true damage (based on lvl) [those #'s could be wrong been a while since i looked at his specifics]

In team fights spit out all your aoe spells try to get picks with your e the greater number of people you ult the better your chance of winning that team fight
