Help me in Mid Lane

Hi Everyone!! I'm in desperate need of help in my mid-lane T.T

I'm at least fairly decent in al lanes except the middle. I know that each lane requires a different attitude and playstyle and yada yada yada. I also know that majority of champions in the mid-lane are squishy. I know that mid-laners are supposed to roam, and are supposed to help with ganks here and there. They are also the most vulnerable to be ganked (imo anyway) since they're in the middle of the map.

Even with all this in mind, I am horrid in the middle and I really don't know why. If someone can give me some rookie mid-laner advice that'd be awesome, and maybe suggest an easy-goin' champion to start off with? I already own Akali, Annie, Karma, Kayle, Leblanc, Lissandra, Lux, Ryze, and Zilean. If it helps, my main spot on the rift is support (Alistar). I'm not the best at cs, but I don't think I'm horrid at it...

I've already played a fair number of bot games in mid and we all know there's a point to where bots just aren't enough. Yet when I enter a norm, it appears like I'm feeding and my team reports me because I'm doing so badly :(. I can't even play normals in mid cause I don't want my reports to stack and have Riot put me in low priority que. Please help me??

Annie is a good mid laner who is good at winning lane and csing alike. although i hate this champ this is who you want to play if you want the easy mid lane.

Mid is my worst lane, and I play mostly tanky dudes everywhere, plus the occasional utility support here and there. The only Mid I somewhat decently masters is Annie, and I usually manage to hold my ground in lane and wait for the game to transition to teamfights.

Just safely farm with your Q, try not to push, and wait. You'll progressively learn when to trade and when to get kills with more experience. But to begin, it's best to just aim for a draw. But for the love of everything holy, PING THE DARN SS! ;p

The fact to ping/announce in chat when your lane opponent is not in your lane. Meaning he is probably roaming to another lane, and will gank them.

Because even if you don't feed your opponent, it doesn't matter if he fed himself by roaming and taking double kills bot ;)

Mid is the most gankable but its short length also makes it the safest. Important in mid lane is knowing when you can extend and when its dangerous. If you know where the enemy jungler is, then okay! If not, its best to keep a ward on one side and stay near that side. If you can't do that you're probably best off not extending too far. Distance extended also depends on if your champion has a dash available.

Mid is usually bursty and you'll want to recognize the point where it changes from spell trades to a kill lane (which is very champion dependent, but almost always by level 6). Its trades are mostly skillshots fired at each other when the opponent goes to cs. Again depending on champion, whether or not the wave protects you or traps you.

Roaming is really an art form, it can look so easy to walk to a nearby lane and pick up a free kill. But in reality, everything needs to come together for a good roam to happen. You need to shove your wave out so your opponent loses vision of you and can't turn on your tower as quickly. You need to not be spotted by wards, nor have your roam checked by the enemy jungler. Your sidelane needs to be ready to receive a gank, with an extended opponent and your allies healthy enough to fight. I would worry first about winning your own lane, really.

It can be really, really frustrating to learn several things at once because doing one thing poorly will handicap you to the point that you can't do any of the things you're supposed to effectively (if that seems vague, consider this: if you have poor wave control and are always getting ganked or your enemy laner is roaming and getting fed, you won't learn anything about trading because you'll lose most trades to a fed opponent). This means that the best way to learn several things at once is to pick a champion that is really forgiving about something you're bad at. If you just want someone fairly mechanically simple that lets you pick things up, I recommend Morgana. Farming is a breeze with a few ranks in W, your passive sustain and shield can mitigate a lot of the harass (if it can even reach you) and your Q and Ult (especially when you get a item 3157 ) means you'll have great utility in teamfights even if you're behind. You will miss out on some assassin-burst potential, but if you're struggling to be effective in midlane I don't think those champions are the way for you to go yet anyway.

1.You are not obligated to roam as a mid-laner. It is dependent on what champion you are playing and if you can afford to.

2.Practice your most comfortable champion for mid-lane, dont worry about "the best pick" or what is "meta" (although i don't recommend alistar mid)

3.Ward a lot, not just the bushes, but river and behind the walls by the bushes.

4.Practice wave balance, learn when to push and when to farm close to your turret.

5.Hug the safe side of the map, if you have vision on the top part of the map, hug that side when you farm.

6.Don't be afraid to back more frequently than you would in a side lane, the mid-lane is much shorter and you can afford to back a little more often.

7.Practice.
