Billion dollar company IS DOING WORSE PATCHES THAN FUCKING ACTUAL SMALL INDIE COMPANY

Mordekaiser is immune to Ignite in ult Plants spawn sometimes but are not breakable Sometimes camps are invisible for a few seconds Nunu is still doing the random pop up thing Hitboxes are even worse I randomly got healed in the jungle as warwick for 300 health with autoattacking a small bird LEAGUE OF REMAKE LEAGUE OF AFK I've had 10 afk teammates in the past 30 games Ranked is down Team fight Tactics is broken Perma stun Annie Whatever happened to Qiyana People have banned Mordekaiser just for him to get picked and locked Sometimes spells do not go off, same with abilities Electrocute is a gamble, klepto sometimes gets replaced with glacial augment I've been autofilled to support 20 times in the past week Ranked bugs Queue errors Bug splats System errors People never reconnecting Basic Client issues Sometimes cannot click Loot Death recap is FUCKING EVEN WORSE THAN THE PREVIOUS I've muted people and still seen their messages Constantly hearing a random ass noise in Champion Select when I muted all audio in LoL

How much SHIT could you POSSIBLY FUCK UP in 1 GOD DAMN PATCH.

This will go down as the worst possible patch Riot has ever made in history, AND IT WAS DELAYED BY 3 FUCKING WEEKS.

THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE THE PBE RIOT, STOP FUCKING JACKING OFF AND MAKING SKINS.

Skin is broken: INSTANT HOTFIX EVERYTHING IS ON FIRE: It will take a week for it all to be fixed.

I think Riot's doing fine. They finally realized:

  1. Our Behavior modification experiment is backfiring in standard play. Incorporate the option to disable all chat.
  2. Our standard play is disgruntling the majority of our competitive players because of how MMR works. Make a game mode that doesn't rely on the same aspects of instant reaction that our core does, to retain players in the franchise (also acts as an escape for those who are in danger of punishment from chat bans/perma bans)

Riot knows what it's doing. Their primary game is in semi-decline, so they are in the process of reinventing their game without abandoning it.

I think Riot has realized something no other game providers have: We identify the success/failure of a franchise based upon how it delivers its product.

In other words, take a game maker like Trion. Rift. They only made one game we identify them with. It was moderately successful, like Riot, only after it went F2P. But..... then it adopted Archeage, and created 3-4 platform/console games on its game launcher.

Trion's mishandling of Archeage, which was potentially the MMORPG potential equivalent of League of Legends (it had HUGE potential) cost them in every game portfolio they held;

-Rift players left. -All their secondary developments flopped.

Instead of having 5-6 different products risking cross exposure, Riot instead has ONE product: League of Legends. I want to emphasize right here:

Summoner's Rift is NOT League of Legends. it is a SUBGAME of League. Twisted Treeline is a subgame. ARAM is a subgame. URF is a subgame.

What League of Legends actually is: A business FRANCHISE. The idea of the Champions, the summoners, the world they are stolen from, the conflict. THAT is League of Legends.

And like a Manga, it can be applied to ANY NUMBER of SUBGAMES.

In other words, they expect human error to eventually damage their game. So they can create new games without much destruction to FRANCHISE reputation.

If Summoner's Rift has failures, they will still have TFT to fall back on. ARAM.

I honestly don't understand how the PBE, where the game is supposed to be tested before launching to live, could be so different from live that certain bugs would fly under the radar??? If it's an issue with the number of players then maybe host it on a bigger server so more people can try it out? Host it on multiple different servers to stress test?

Also from what I've heard people were experiencing some of these bugs on the PBE but they decided to push it to Live anyway? Like Death Recap was hella bugged on PBE as well but they still pushed it through. Some people have said the plant one is an ongoing bug for a couple patches now, I think I heard people were experiencing the Galio bug in PBE as well. If there's any big game breaking bugs you don't push it to live, even if it has already been delayed by three weeks. Delay it for as long as it takes to work out or find most of the bugs, it's just common sense.

Don't bully Riot! They're a small indie company! You'll make them cry! :(

We have to show them LOVE and you can do this by bypassing the store altogether and just mailing them money to show your LOVE! We can ignore that billion+ dollars in revenue thing, because it's inconvenient to bring it up. Just give them more money because they need it!
