Why Would You Pick Nautilus Over Blitzcrank?

Blitzcrank has a far superior kit to Nautilus.

Blitzcrank's Q pulls the target TO you with no downsides Nautilus's Q pulls himself and the target together, and Nautilus could be focused down easily with no mobility left to get out.

Blitzcrank's Mobility is also way better than Nautilus's Blitzcrank presses W, gets a large speed boost for a bit of time, then gets a very short slow debuff Nautilus has to SACRIFICE his MAIN CC ABILITY to get out of situations Nautilus's W is also a mini shield with a small DOT effect

Blitzcrank's E is an instant Knockup that ignores flash, dashes and teleports. Nautilus's E is an aoe slow, doesn't restrict anything

Blitzcrank's R is an AOE TEAMSIZED SILENCE THAT BREAKS ANY AND ALL SHIELDS, THEN DEALS DAMAGE Nautilus's R is a targeted knockup that can be dashed away from and be safe while it knocks you up.

Blitzcrank's passive is a Shield that uses 30% of his CURRENT MANA to gain a shield equal to the amount of mana lost upon reaching 20% health Nautilus has a small stun that has a cooldown per unit.

Blitzcrank combo: Pull you into his team, knock you up, then silence you. You're 100% dead because you're literally surrounded by the enemy team.

Teamfighting: Q E someone, they die, W into the enemy team and silence everyone while breaking all their shields

Nautilus combo: Pull yourself into the open with an enemy, then get targeted down because you used your mobility spell to engage. or Pull enemy, shield, slow, R, AA, that person is dead but you can't do ANYTHING for the rest of the fight because of your cooldowns.

Blitzcrank is so much better to Nautilus in every way, why would ANYONE pick Nautilus.

And don't say "Because Nautilus is a tank and Blitzcrank isn't", Far better tanks with the better CC than Nautilus exist and Blitzcrank also gets extremely tank with 6 items and 600+ shielding every 30s.

Naut has far more CC and survivability, as well as more options if his hook misses.

Naut is also, surprisingly, more mobile, and has better teamfight engage.

Blitz is better at making a single pick, naut is better overall in other scenarios.

Another reason to pick naut that isn't mentioned here:

His hook hitbox is huge. Much bigger than blitzcrank's. Combine that with his innate tankiness and base damages, he's one of the best supports in the game right now.

Your comparisions are slanted to favor what blitz does well.

Take a step back. Your undervaluing the power of Point and click Hard CC on Natu R. Its not as good of an Engage as Blitz hitting a Q but Its far more reliable then anything in blitz kit for hard CCing a target in a teamfight.

Natu peels far better then Blitz, ideal for a support. His passive scales to be a longer snare CC then blitz E, and he can trigger it on multiple targets in a fight. His Aoe provides a slow, Additional peel.

Blitz Shield is not on demand, resulting in it not being as effective for mitigating damage, even if its able to get pumped to higher values. Being unable to Body block skill shots on a tank is not ideal In lane.

Blitz Q is better displacement. Can hit over walls, does not relocate himself. Its probably the single best displacement ability in the game on a basic ability and eats up most of the champions power budget.

End result... Natu can peel better. Hard CC better and body block abilitys better. Blitz can yank over walls, resulting in some surprise ambushes/catching some one out of position. He has better mobility for roaming and attempting to gap close.

Nautilus is an incredibly reliable cc bot and frontline, I'm not sure what you're on about.

I'd much rather have a Nautilus over Blitz, once Blitz uses the grab he is just there for moral support, and he isn't very good at running away due to the self slow
