Cho'gath's Ultimate

I remember the days when Cho'gath was a tank and his ultimate was his only real form of burst damage. During that period, Cho was the epitome of balance as you could see him on any given day and no one batted an eye.

All of the sudden we have the emergence of AP Cho'gath who is nuking people for upwards of 1200+ TRUE DAMAGE. And this AFTER he has already hit you with 1k plus+ magic damage that is tied in with an AoE knock-up and 2.5 second silence. Before people say "just dodge the knock-up, any Cho worth his salt will use his silence first (which has an absurd range).

The problem I have is that Cho's kit is already hard to deal with when he builds AP due to the amount of crowd control he brings, but then to have an ultimate which can take out 50-75% of a carries health alone and is unable to be mitigated just seems absurd. Tied in with ignite, late game Cho is dealing out upwards of 2000 true damage with one ability and a summoner spell.

This doesn't even touch on the fact that he has a ridiculously safe laning phase because of his innate sustain and tankiness.

All of the sudden we have a champion who is tanky without needing to build tanky, has INSANE burst damage (most of which is TRUE DAMAGE) and has a ton of CC dropped on top of it to boot.

How is this balanced? I've spammed him in solo queue and you become monster without even snowballing. Farm half decently and get an early Rod and you're set to go for the entire game by one shotting carries, nuking TANKS and silencing an entire team for 2.5 seconds (which in a teamfight is an ETERNITY).

This needs to be dealt with.

Riot should never have buffed his ultimate like they did. Now he can maintain easily his ult stacks without any CDR at all

I must admit he is insanely strong, he's one of the few champions I feel safe enough to buy mejais on due to how hard it is for him to die with 6 ult stacks.

Personally, I think he's fine if you can dodge his Q. Just run to the side if you see your going to be in it, and like any good Cho, they will try to put it behind you so you back into it, so keep going to the sides around your farm. Besides that he is realllyyyyyy slow in the beginning of the game. Learn to counter him before you complain.

Mage'Gath has kind of always been around since season 1. The changes around him were never that major. Just enough to make people go "Oh wow...silences mess up assassins. Let me try..................Wow his ratios are really high because of his season 1 AP ratio standards. MAIN".

he dosent have any real solo kil pressure without his ult thou his q and w are skill shots and yes they hurt but cho is slow and against assassins without his ult most will just be like nope running away now meaning you would have to chase and land multiple skill shots in order to solo kill which will almost never happens on cho. yes hes strong and hard to kill but hes not a hyper carry
