STOP TAKING MID LANE CHAMPS IN TOP LANE. IT IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING TO FIGHT PEOPLE LIKE ANNIE AND AHRI WHEN YOU ARE A TOP LANER BECAUSE A) YOU PROBABLY DONT HAVE MUCH OF A GAP CLOSER TO GET TO THEM B) YOU DON'T HAVE AS MUCH CC AS THEM AND C) YOU DONT HAVE AS MUCH POKE OR ZONING AS THEM. AND TO THOSE WHO PLAY ANNIE AND AHRI IN THE TOP LANE. STOP! YOU ARE LITERALLY RUINING THE ENTIRE GAME EXPERIENCE FOR THE TOP LANER AND ITS TIME TO FUCKING STOP!

Looks like I will keep taking mages top lane because I know it is good against melee top laners.

Litterally any bruiser will crush them and any tank will shrug off most of their dmg after the first back and all of it after the second.

Thing is, if it's not meta, there must be a reason. You cannot win your lane, but you must be able to do something else to win the game, or this would be played in competitive.

Try to survive until team-fights, and then the lack of frontline of the enemy team should cost them a lot.

There are a few ways to deal with cheeky top lane mages,

Switch with your mid laner: They should be better equipped to deal with mage then you are. If both lanes have mages this is still a decent plan since mid lane is a shorter lane and you'll be closer to your turret then you would top lane.

Pick Galio , Chogath or Heimerdinger : These guys are flexible top/mid laners that do well against most mages that dare to go top.

Pick a tanky top like Volibear , Maokai or Nautilus : These guys won't necessarily dominate lane, but their kits let them transition to teamfights pretty well even without items. Just avoid feeding.

dude. If you just e onto the annie, q and then w to run away, thats like.. pretty free damage honestly. If you dont know how to play ranged matchups, you just have to learn what they are doing to beat you, and what you can do to counter their plan to beat you in lane. You just gotta learn your matchups breh.
