Say what you will, elo hell is real (and its in china)
Hi guys, expat here. Currently in China on Chinese servers, but started playing NA and European servers on two account since Atrox release.
I'm in the most insane spat of elo hell you can imagine. League is by no means hard, a lot of it is common logic. Don't go out to far alone, check mini map often get objectives. Being good at your champ is obviously important, but i think just the common sense factor is most important in low levels of play (seriously some of these people)...But right now, I'm full on tilted. I often see people say Elo hell is not real, and that good players get out of it easy, but it is not simply the case. Elo hell is real, and it exist in China, my follow westerners you have no idea of the tilt.
Before I began, it's important to note that Chinese servers are unlike the NA server in that they are totally unreliable and have a ton of dc and lag issues. Leaverbuster actually doesn't ban people because people get DC so often, the worst punishment is 20 minute wait times which is nothing honestly .
This makes a terrible situation. A normal match for me is not 5 V 5, but rather 5 V 9. My opponents being 5 enemy players, extreme server based lag, my girlfriend who ONLY disturbs me during ranked, bug splats and my chinese computer (Which often freezes ONLY DURING FIGHTS OR WHEN I DIVE???)
Anyway, here is an example of my last 6 matches (I know you can't check my actuale summoner profile but my ign is Canadianbacon, on the server with the green ghost if you ever have seen Chinese servers)
Match 1, 1 win needed in series. Play Irelia, dominate my lane, i'm 7/2 ahead by 60 CS. Get tower, trying to help out mid. Adc afk, Graves keeps jumping into their team throwing them kills. Next thing you know hes 4/10, rage quits and it a 3 v 5. Lose
Match 2, I'm a little frusterated, but don't let the tilt get to me. Pick Vel koz. Fail to get into the game. Now heres a thing about Chinese servers, if you get bugsplat or DC, the reconnect button doesn't work. So I have to restart the whole client. I tried 3 times, join the match at 17 mins, nexus lwas 2% hp. Was in the game for about 2 seconds before the lose screen comes up.
Alright, I'm tilted, so I stop playing for the day.
Match 3 and 4, destroyed as blitz, some good news, I'm now at 99LP and ready to get back into promos. EZ PZ right elo hell was a lie!
Match 5: Play as Anivia mid. Destroying my lane, I'm 13/1. Our team is 29/13, we have on inhib and almost every turrent minus nexus. Enemy has 0 turrents, we won right??? Well, the girlfriend yells at me to take me away from league for something. Can't argue, but I know my team can win everyone is fed right?? Come back in 2 mins, all our inhibs are gone, score is now 29/26 (WTF happened man). I'm the only one alive, attempt to fight them off but can't, lose.
Well I won 2 as Blitz, just a bad game right!
Match 6: Play Zyra (loving that new dragon skin and I dominated normals as her). Enemy invades jungle, I FREEZE. NOOOOOOOOO. come back, 3 my teammates dead, adc gets away. ALL ENEMIES ARE IN A PERFECT LINE WITH LESS THEN 20 HP! AND I PUT MY POINT IN E! I go in for the worlds easiest and lazy penta and......I FREEZE AGAIN. come back, I'm dead, they are all taunting me. Every team member ends up getting destroyed (final score was about 42-5, I did terrible too no lying).
Match 7: Anivia mid again, time to kick some ass! Wait...bug splat at the start. Once I get back in the loading screen, my teammates did remake and I lost some LP. Sigh
Match 8: Playing Talon. I go 11/0. I'm ganking every lane, took all 3 first towers and invaded the enemy jungler a bunch. I'm super fed and steam rolling them. Oh man this is an easy win! "ally was slain, ally was slain, ally was slain". Seriously, my teammates are dying at hyperspeed. I go bot to help them out, clean up the fight, but then top gets reck. Vice verse happens, top getting pwned, I go top, kill the jung and their lane opponet, but my 3 other teammates die at bot. Try to take objectives, but 3 of the enemies will just meet to fight me, well the other two just continue stomping my teammates.
Match 9: (Last match) Irelia top, my best and favorite champion. Completly stomp the enemy riven, I'm 120 cs above her and 8/1/1, take tower. The enemy has a troll jinx, who feeds our brand who goes 20/0! Plus I see our blitz sup get quite a few kills and we have an insane lead, no way we can lose wahoo!
Enemy has all AD team, so I get thornmail after my TF, and stomp the enemy zed support, jungle rek sai and feeding jinx a couple times. I take top inhib, get the last mid tower, and get some kills. Our jungle decided to afk, but thats ok we don't need lee! right? righhttt???? So, I failedd to notice, but our ez was 0/10. The enemy yasuo was quite fed, and pushes to our bot inhib in like 10 seconds. So I go to fight him, he gets away, but the rest of my team got aced in a team fight well I was gone. Thats ok guys? Guys???? Well, zed would split push top, yasuo bot, and the other 3 just pushed mid. Brand turned out to be terrible and kept dying to zed and yasuo even with 20 kills. Jinx stopped feeding, and my team started getting crushed. I was carrying hard, but my team just wanted to roam around no matter how much I told them to help me take the nexus (even fed with a ton of armor, couldn't 1 v 4). Enemy jungle snags the baron, and yasuo steam rolls into our nexus. I told the team to back and stop him, but nobody would (they literly just doing nothing in mid lane near enemy base). I go back, try to fight yasuo, but baron mins reck my face. He slays my sweet irelia bumhole, and takes nexus with 0 resistance from my team (They didn't try to recall OR WIN, just had a tea party).
But yeah, elo hell is extremly real for me. Seems every time I play ranked, I have to conquer some kind of BS that goes beyond skill or just playing the game. Doesn't matter if its extreme lag or just constant matches with yasuo jungles on my team. Back in the West I always played with my gold and plat friends (against the same levels) and it was no problem at all. Personally I think the gold level is the funniest in the game. People are good and have amazing team fights, but are not SO good that if you make one bad shot you get crushed under the unforgiving cackle of the rift gods fury. Bronze people make really funny calls like running 500 miles after that "low" hp singed or thinking they can 1 v 1 that fed Fiora just because "darius is op". Its so easy to stomp lane and the majority of the game, but controlling team mates is IMPOSSIBLE (especially when they speak Chinese and you don't)!
Oh, and all the tips you often see (play the right champs, ward, make sure you team has a tank, ap, cc, etc etc) I know all that stuff, but nothing helps. If anyone has new ideas, please help. Otherwise, This hell is mostly caused by the servers themselves, so I just must suffer.
Anyway, just my stupid, bronze 3, elo hell tangent. If anyone wants to know about Chinese servers feel free to ask. Otherwise, enjoy your half hell my fellow western bronzies, i'll be here in the real Elo hell
tldr; Chinese servers suck, I'm forever in bronze and have no idea how anybody here moves up at all
