Rengar or Talon

Hey guys I'm a level 27 player on the NA server. Looking for a new assassin to add to my champion pool. Who would you reccomend? Talon or Rengar. What I know about them based on research: Talon: Weak late game, but extremely fast burst when he hits 6. (Mid champ) Rengar: Weak pre 6 ganks, but after 6 becomes useful. One shot master, but recent nerfs have affected that a bit. (Jungle/top champs) I'm not really concerned about the "OP ratiing" or whatnot just looking for a fun champ . Thanks for your advice.

Rengar is gutted, so pick Talon.

Could you please elaborate how "gutted" Rengar is. Most of my friends who are ranked say that just his e's been nerfed.

That's literally what happened lol. People like to call champions gutted when really they're just getting balanced. The fact that rengar can build tanky items and still one shot with a hydra is very annoying though haha

talon because rengar has been got gutted. Rengar is also falling out of meta and takes more time to get good with him. It takes people on average, over 125 games to get over a 50% winrate with rengar. By the way dont listen to sickxapples hes just another rengar hater on the boards who has not idea what hes talking about. People on the boards hate rengar because when he is played correctly he can one shot other champions that do not have alot of health or armor.

If you want a champion who is alot of fun i would go with rengar, If you want a champion who preforms better and takes less time to learn to play, then i would go with talon.

I personally main rengar

When i say less time to learn to play talon, i mean it takes about 25-40 games on talon to get good at him

Hope this helps and hope to see another rengar main on the rift. Btw dont bring up rengar too much because people hate rengar just as much as people hate lee sin

Thank you. I think I'm leaning towards Rengar. I tried him on a friend's acc and even though I fed and the game was miserable, we had 3 arguing babies all going top, playing him was pretty fun. Could you give me more information on Rengar. Ty.

It was not really a glitch or a bug, but they did fix a good portion of it in patch 6.3 though

That's right I have not idea what I'm talking about! Oh wait.. That didn't come out quite right now did it? Why don't I have any idea what I'm talking about? Now you can miss throwing his bola, heaven forbid they make him take more skill to play. For talon to stay relevant he must build full damage and then gets destroyed by bruisers(unless they're terribly behind). Rengar on the other hand can easily toss two tank items in his build and still wreck a squishies face. Talon has more aoe damage than rengar. Rengar however has far more sustain and tankiness than talon, not to mention rengar will never be oom because he doesn't use mana. According to champion.gg the average number of games for rengar's player base is 67.05 while Talon's is roughly 40. Still less than rengar but nothing close to your 125 that you had claimed. Each champion however does have their strengths and weaknesses.. but in no way shape or form was rengar gutted.

You have no idea what your talking about and im not going to argue with you on the boards because its a waste of my time explaining to you why talon is better right now. oh and btw 125 games was refering to the amount of games on average a player has to play to get good with rengar. talon requires 15-50 games to get the same results as rengar (winrate wise). After 50+ games with talon, talons winrate is higher than rengars.

Talon is better at low elo, he has shorter ULT cd and is plently good enough to be useful late game. I'm not saying Rengar is better than talon at higher elo, its just easier to abuse Talon's burst than Rengar's... If you are new, which u are, def Talon.. Once you get better id think about Rengar.

And no, Rengar isn't gutted, hardly even nerfed if you were already good at him.. I still have a 67% win-rate on him after 39 games.

rengar got nerfed a bunch of times already (when someone winrate goes down by like 5%. you know he got nerfed hard).. hes down there with the worst assassins in the game along with akali and kha zix.

talon is very reliable. but hes getting nerfed. mana cost and cooldowns. the problem is. hes very mana hungry so I;d wait. personally just buy zed. seems to be riot's baby fav champion and hes pretty extrememly too powerful right now.

Oh. Ty for telling me about the talon nerfs. I actually already have Zed, and do enjoy him. Have level 5 mastery with him as well.
