I got Nasus today. I need advice on how to farm well with him. I'm level 7, and I don't know many of the League terms so plz explain and elaborate a bit. What's Nasus Q farming btw. Thanks.

Every unit you last-hit with Nasus' Q will give it +3/+6 damage (depending on the unit). Gaining stacks is referred to as farming Nasus' Q.

Take defensive starting items. Doran's Shield, Cloth Armor, and Ruby Crystal are all good options.

Rush CDR and durability. My core items are typically Iceborn Gauntlet and Spirit Visage.

Focus on stacking your Q early-game. You can typically fight most champions when you have around 200 stacks and Sheen.

Practice last-hitting under tower. It's the safest place for you to farm early-game and many players continually shove you under the tower.

Know when to give up CS. You can't get them all and sometimes you will have to let the minion die without killing it to avoid taking a poor trade which could shove you out of lane. Just try to stay in experience range and get what you can.

Avoid pushing the minion wave until you are capable of beating the enemy laner. Having the minion wave too far from your turret can leave you overextended when farming which can easily result in your death and let the enemy zone you. Try to hold it in front of your tower when possible.

If you want a generic build to follow until you have know how to build him situationally, my typically build is something like the following: item 3009 or item 3047 or item 3111, item 3025, item 3065, item 3742, item 3102, item 3075

This is mostly good advice (though i typically rush item 3110 vs. AD and item 3065 vs. AP, picking up both eventually). My only problem with item 3025 is that the passive is AoE damage, so it pushes the minion wave.

You're level 7, so in case you don't understand what we're talking about:

Managing the minion 'wave' - ie. where your and the enemy minions clash in the lane- is an important skill, especially for a farming champion like Nassus. You typically want the minions to be close to your own turret, but not so close that they're being killed by your turret. Most new players use their abilities on minions whenever they can, but it's much better to 'last hit' using autoattacks (right-clicks); ie. waiting until the minion is really low, then using your free autoattack to get the killing blow. For Nassus, it's important to use your Q to get this last hit whenever you can.

Some exceptions to this are:

  1. if you're against someone who struggles at last-hitting minions early in the game (Swain, Malphite, Sion, etc.), it can be a good idea to place some wards and push the wave to the opponents turret; the turret will accumulate a lot of damage, and many minions will be killed by the turret instead of the champion, denying them gold

  2. If the enemy is trying to push his wave to YOUR tower, you may need to damage the enemy minions as well to keep him from doing this.

Managing waves like this takes a lot of practice, so don't be discouraged if it takes a while to pick up.

Specific Tips for Nassus:

  1. Cannon minions provide 3 stacks instead of the usual 1; try to last hit these with Q whenever possible.

  2. Never 'last hit' with your E (the area-of-effect spell); this will damage all the minions it hits, causing the wave to push to the opponents turret.

  3. Nassus is vulnerable to early all-ins (Tryndamir, Volibear, Riven, Darius, Garen, Olaf, etc.) Be cautious early in the game, and take wither (W) at level 2. You will eventually outscale any champion in the top lane, but if you give up kills early in the game it will be hard to get to that point. Unless your jungler is ganking your lane, do not fight the enemy laner until level 6

4.** Tips for last-hitting when your turret is hitting the enemy minion**s (early in the game, applies to full-health minions):

  • last hitting a melee minion: 2 turret shots + 1 auto/Q
  • last hitting a ranged minion: 1 turret shot + 1 Q/2 autos (could become 1 auto if you get some AD later) (wait for the turret to target the ranged creep, auto it before hit by the shot, then last hit it after the shot hits)
  • last hitting a cannon: 5 turret shots + 1 Q (though they're usually damaged enough that 4 turret shots are enough)

Sorry the encyclopedia, i hope this helps some :)

I don't really mind the AoE on Iceborn Gauntlet. By the time I have purchased it I'm typically strong enough to fight my opponent in lane anyways (so overextending isn't as big of an issue), it's about time that I begin applying pressure in my lane (so I want to push), and I like having Sheen early. It is personal preference though.

Having Sheen relatively early is rather significant for me; I run Armor Pen marks and Lifesteal Quints, so Sheen offers a significant amount of damage and sustain. That and I'm not a huge fan of Trinity Force on Nasus at the moment; it's not bad, but I think I would rather have the additional durability than the movement speed and damage.

I wouldn't necessarily say that you should never last hit using E, though you definitely shouldn't do so frequently. It can be useful for picking up multiple minions when you are being zoned by the enemy (only consider using it if it would kill 2+ minions you would otherwise miss) and for lowering the health of minions you can't kill in one autoattack (I'll occasionally cast Q in front of the minion wave so that it doesn't hit them but they have to walk through it when I don't have enough damage to one-hit them under tower after the turret shot).

kill minions with your q.

Nasus is a champion that wants to stay in lane, kill a bunch of creeps with his Q for 20 minutes then teleport bit lane and change the game. That's Nasus. early game, you might lose lane but as long as you are constantly farming with your Q to stack his damage output, you will be relevant.

here is yor build for nasus 80% of the time. item 3024 >item 3067 >item 3057 >item 3110 >item 3009 >item 3065 >item 3078 >item 3742 >item 3102

if you're VS AP the rush item 3065 then build the rest. Sometimes you may want to replace item 3742 withitem 3075 . If there is no AP then swapitem 3065 with item 3812 .

The reason you do this is CDR allows Nasus to stack faster and this build will max your CDR while providing you dumb amounts of tank. After a short time you'll be able to 1 shot caster minions and lets you'll do the same to melee minions. You should always be looking for a stack. Killing the other champ in your lane is secondary to stacking.

When its time to fight you are the raid boss. Use E to reduce armor and use Q whenever its up. Don't wait too long for R as it will deal AOE % health damage and boost your AD while also giving you HP. In a team fight you need 1) your team to be with you and 2) to start with R. The other team will have to either focus you down which may take a little bit since you are super tanky and have lots of sustain, or split focus which means you get to Q more. You aren't mobile so I suggest to attack anything that's not the tank that is in close range to you unless you can get to the damage dealer. Even though you may be fighting someone else use your slow on a near buy squishy or whoever needs to die first. This will allow your team to attack them if they can.
