new champs are usually released a couple hours/ even days into the patch. Usually to make you pay rp because people are impatient and they know how to manipulate us

releasing them right at the start would make people pay rp just the same as releasing it a few hours in though?

Probably, but if they release him when the patch just comes out, they probably don't have a huge player base online at the time. People who are online would buy him and everyone else who comes on later would get a demo of how good/bad he is without buying him. Delaying it until they have a large amount of players online or just before (which they probably can estimate based on the trends they see), they probably end up with the maximum amount of sales compared to releasing it with the patch.

PS: This is all just theory and what not, so take it with a grain of salt.

idk man the last 2 champs went live just 6 hours after their respective patches hit live servers, so i don't expect Rito Games to just leave the trend they've set behind until 3 or 4 more champs are released.
