Whats is Shaco's purpose?
I just have to ask Riot what is the purpose of Shaco? He is an assassin no? But he has absolutely 0 scaling. Shaco scales with the items it self not really with his skill set. Unless you are playing AP but its so much work to trick people into the boxes.
I guess the point of this post is I just dont understand the logic behind Riots changes on this champion. Shaco had a high win % due to the fact that Bruiser Shaco was fairly strong. The reason this was strong is because Shaco has great base AD to scale with Trinty. And Titantic is just an over tuned item in general. Shaco would rush Trinty, Titantic, then offensive defense items like Deadmans, Maw, Sunfire. The Titantic active is a auto attack reset so you would proc Tlords pretty much instantly "When it wasn't bugged on him" . Hydra is not an AA reset.
This gave shaco amazing burst while making him fairly tanky. I think the numbers at the time were that Bruiser shaco burst was only 300 dmg lower then full Ad/Lethality. Even more so after the last round of Lethality nerfs "And Rightly so" Plus the addition of 8% missing health on E from his mini rework rewarded bruiser type builds even more so. Because to justify the missing health you cant have high AD/AP scaling.
What was Riots response? They gut his Q. Completely gut it. They moved all of the damage to his passive. They removed the base damage period. Then they nerfed the AD scaling a bit. Also they increase the cool down on Q. Making Shacos damage significantly weaker and making his escape more difficult.
Shaco as an assassin has its issues. Thats why people opted out into the bruiser type builds. Assassin shaco is pretty unforgiving. If you make one mistake you cost your team. Assassin shaco and shaco in general has a high skill cap. Once assassin shaco is in. He is in and he dies. He has no escapes. And his damage required good positing.
Bruiser shaco is much more forgiving. Its damage was comparable to assassin and you could mess up but still fulfill a function. Bruiser shaco also could get out of the fight once he was in. As bruiser you could Q in do your combo ult and live long enough for your next Q. This was extremely difficult on glass cannon shaco. Even if you did not get a back stab off the Sheen, Titatic, base dmg on Q, Tlords, + Titantic active all were enough to take 80% of a squish hp bar. Plus the E% missing health would be enough to finish.
So the issue was 100% Bruiser shaco. Shaco needed a nerf 100%. But the direction Riot nerfed shaco was just completely wrong. These changes force players to build exclusively bruiser. And made assassin shaco pretty much impossible to play. Bruisr Shaco is strong because Bruiser Items are strong and shaco has good base AD and AS. Shaco's scaling is poor in his kit he only scales with items.
I would just like some clarity from Riot about shaco. His intended role in the game and if / how they plan to make assassin shaco viable. Shaco is a unique champion in the game that used to have a variety of viable build paths. That just is not the case any more.
tl;dr - Bruiser shaco winrate was to high. Riot nerfed shaco in a way making bruiser shaco the only viable option??
