Is it me or the reward from leveling feels so unrewarding/bad? [ Spoiler ]

Just leveled by playing 10 games + 2 bot games, and I got such a bad reward. Got a 960 BE Zyra champion shard. Imagine getting a lower champion shard how bad that would feel.

They said it won't take longer, they are right, it will take much more than the word longer could describe.

Dude. I played the same amount and got a fucking Taric shard. Was worth like 200. It's pathetic. You don't get anything worthwhile, the gains are entirely random, it's probably gonna take upwards of 2 months just to get a 6300BE champ. This is the most insulting patch that RITO has ever put out.

And the higher in levels you go, the more games you got to play for that sad little reward. The new BE reach around.

People complained, but Riot clearly felt the balance was correct. I don't think they're likely to change their minds, at least in terms of XP to reward ratio. I'm just saying that, at the early levels, it doesn't take longer, which was your initial assertion.

That being said, at least with the old system you gained a little bit towards more stuff each game. Now you gain a little bit towards a level, which gives you random stuff. Assuming that random stuff equals the XP value of the level you just gained, it might still not feel as rewarding, and if that becomes a widespread issue then Riot could do something. They seem to frequently reference how things feel when making changes at the margins, and this may be no different.

No, it was not correct. The old system already had the problem of grinding, now they made it worse with even worse rewards.

I'm a (now) level 31 account and I got 3 champ shards out of my first capsule.

There were as follows:

Amumu (already owned) DEs into 90 BE. Le Blanc (will never own) DEs into 630 BE. Warwick (already owned) DEs into 90 BE.

...Wtf am I supposed to do with champion shards now? It honestly doesn't feel worth the effort go through all the clicks just to disenchant them. You can't re-roll them into something random so they're just gonna sit there? I don't get it.

The whole reason for the IP/BE rework was so that they could force you into buying RP for champs you want, especially newer ones. Of course it's going to take longer to get any currency.

It seems so. Or to force you to buy EXP boost. Still this is not the problem, I would expect to at least unlock ONE champion when I level up.

If you google IP gains per win, they list 100 for a 37 minute win and 68 for a 37 minute loss. If you go 5-5, that's 168 x 5 = 840, plus 150 for your first win of the day, so 990 total. That's slightly more than the shard you got.

However, those numbers were presumably chosen because 100 IP is a nice round number. Currently, the average game time is 30 minutes or less.

https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/rankings/game-durations

At 30 minutes you get 10-12 less IP per game than at 37. That puts your ten games around 870. Assuming you're level 30, bot games offer 75%, which would add around 110 more, for 980. Ergo, you would have received about the same IP in the old system for those games as your Zyra shard is worth in the new system.

These numbers are obviously a bit estimated, and assume you have average game lengths, but everything seems in line.

Now, if the amount of XP you need per level increases and the rewards don't improve, that becomes more problematic, but that's a problem when it shows itself to be a problem.

Good points, but I bet the reward is calculating your games, since the reward is random. And we already had problem with the old system since people did not like how much you had to grind and now they made it even harded. Wait for the boards to explode with posts about how bad the reward is. Hope they will improve it after that.

They already stated that spamming games gives you less, but the daily "first win' mission gives a lot more.

Biscuit Bite3 votes

So they just want to favor the casual player now?

Yeah. Casual players work. Then play one or two games. Those that have the luxury to spam games all day are less likely to spend a buck or two here and there. Makes sense right?

With the previous system, I could spend all day playing if I wanted to, grinding IP and enjoying my games. Even if I lost a lot, I still felt like I was getting something for my efforts. With the new system, I could play all day and only get half a level. Guess I have to do that all over again just to get something in return.

I want to play MY WAY. Not feel like I'm forced to play at least once daily for my win of the day to make any progress.

Unless you're like me and work full time but also spend your entire day off playing the game. But I still only bought skins with RP because I refused to spend real money on anything other than cosmetics in a game that claims to be free to play.

once you have all of the champions in the game, these BE rewards literally mean nothing. they mean nothing until a new champion comes out and it guarantees you get the new champion on release thats the only good thing i can see in it. other than that, leveling up means nothing to me. not even a skin shard!!
