Personalities of Each Role
So earlier today I was wondering, why are there so few supports in game, but so many supports on the boards? Seemingly everyone on here is a support main, (Myself included), yet in game it seems that ADC and Mid are the most popular roles. This got me thinking about common personality traits between roles, so I thought I could start a discussion on it.
Here is my take on each role:
Top: Top laners are normally the calmest of everyone on the team, and value consistency and slow, methodical gameplay. They don't like having too much interaction, and like to focus on primarily one thing. These players are generally neutral or positive to most conflicts in chat, and is probably the least likely role to talk in chat. Top laners are generally very selfed focused, and can admit when they do something wrong. If one champion embodied the attitude of top laners, it would be
.
Mid: Mid laners love to have multiple things going on at once, and need to be constantly doing something. Mid laners love chatting, and being chatted to, and have no problem focusing on many things. Mid laners are generally strongly positive or strongly negative in chat, mostly due to their strong personalities and extroversion in game, mid laners are one of the most common roles to chat, but it will oftentimes be about themselves, and their lane. If a champion embodied the attitude of Mid laners, it would be
.
ADC: ADCs are a lot like midlaners in their extroversion in chat and self-focus, but tend to shift their focus to other roles as well. ADC's are decently talkative in chat, but when conflict arises they are the most likely to go on the offensive. Because of the nature of the role (Weak early strong late; Tied to a support), they oftentimes shift the blame to other roles (primarily the jungler and support). ADCs are very strategy oriented, much more so than the mid laner, and tends to focus more on the game than most other roles. ADCs very often assume the role of shotcaller. If a champion embodied the attitude of ADCs, it would be
.
Supports: The support is extremely chatty, and is focused on the team as a whole. They enjoy focusing on many things, and are oftentimes very good people persons. Supports are generally very positive in chat, morale boost being a unspoken job of the role. Much like the ADC, the support is very strategy oriented, but while the ADC focuses more on objectives and the enemy team, the support will be focused on helping and protecting their own team. Supports are generally extroverted, and don't like being alone. They are common on the boards because they enjoy talking to other people in general, not just in context to a specific game. If a champion embodied the attitude of supports, it would be
.
Jungle: A jungler is someone who gets bored very easily, and while only focusing on one thing at a time, want's to change said thing constantly. Junglers value variance and change, and tend to be pretty active in the chat. Junglers are generally neutral or negative in the chat, and are the most common role to talk shit in all chat. Much like the ADC, the jungler focuses on his team as a whole, and oftentimes struggles to accept blame. Due to the volatile nature of the role, I find that junglers are the most common role to switch attitudes in chat, and can flip from positive to negative to positive over and over again. If a champion embodied the attitude of Junglers, it would be
