gangplank, fun and balanced or a bit more but not op?

I just got gangplank and absolutely love him, especially that his Q can proc the melee portion of Utility masteries for gold gain. this means that every time his Q is up, you can essentially gain 8 gold while trading with your opponent or 4-8 if you kill a minion

is this balanced even though his rework is coming up? I love critplank and don't want him nerfed, but I wanted to see what people think, and typically the first item I build is to make his gold gain insane because of , and typically then I build another to use in later while still keeping insane gold
