Elo hell doesn't exist.

Commbustion1 votes

Prove to me it doesn't I can prove to you it does. Look at my replay.gg Look at all my loses then you'll realize

Keepe4 votes

You told me to look at your history. You told me to tell you Elo Hell did not exist.

I did so.

Thread solved, case closed. Your needs have been met.

Commbustion1 votes

You have yet to give me one reason on why elo hell doesn't exist. I can give you over 5 reasons on why it does. 1.Afks 2.Trolls 3.Bad players 4.Hitting 99lp 5.Losing a promos and going down to 49 lp 6.Not being able to dodge when there's trolls 7.All wins get negated by these 8.50percent win rate alone due to all these is very possible 9.I have an average of a 5-7kda every single game I play in ranked. Pros don't get that kda when smurfing 3 whole ranks below them 10.Elo hell is real and you can't even give me one reason on how it's not real. Get mad kid.

I do not need to explain

I answered your thread exactly as you asked. If you want a more in depth response, put more effort into your threads than just vague statements. Why should I put more effort into your thread than YOU did?

Commbustion1 votes

You LITTERALLY didn't state one reason on how elo hell is real.

Keepe2 votes

You LITERALLY never ASKED for one reason on how Elo Hell is or isn't real.

Let's look at your opening statement.

Op.gg me or replay.gg me and tell me elo hell doesn't exist LOL

Commbustion1 votes

Scroll up. It's literally right there. I asked you to prove to me that it exists by giving me at least one fact.

Keepe1 votes

I did scroll up.

Again.

Op.gg me or replay.gg me and tell me elo hell doesn't exist LOL

That is the point of the thread. The entire meaning of it's existence. If you want to start an actual, you know... DISCUSSION, you need to make an actual DISCUSSION. Not lazy spam that no one really cares to read.

Commbustion1 votes

YOU DIDN'T GIVE ONE POINT ON HOW ELO HELL IS REAL KID! WTF? ONE, ONE REASON. My 10 reasons compared to your 0. I win retard.

Keepe2 votes

Op.gg me or replay.gg me and tell me elo hell doesn't exist LOL

The point of the thread was never to explain how Elo Hell is or isn't real. The point of the thread was simply to look at your history and then tell you it didn't exist. You were lazy and made a half-baked thread which offered literally nothing to your readers, and I responded to your thread as you made it.

This is my point up here. And down there... Lower. Lower. Keep going. Not yet. Almost. Closer. Warmer. Warmer. Getting hot. You're on fire.

This is your head.

  1. Happens at all elos.
  2. Happens at all elos.
  3. Bad is a subjective term. Also, for every "bad" player on your team, there's an equal chance the other team gets one. It evens out over the long term.
  4. Happens at all elos.
  5. Happens at all elos.
  6. Can't do that at any elo.
  7. No they don't.
  8. Happens at all elos.
  9. Not proof of elo hell.
  10. Not proof of elo hell.

Elo hell doesn't exist, just a lot of dunning-Kruger victims. Climbing out of 'elo hell' isn't a matter of luck or divine intervention or whatever else, it's simply a matter of adopting the right attitude and actually focusing on improving yourself. Certainly hard carrying every game isn't realistic, but if you don't belong at a given elo, you're going to win more than 50% of your matches, and so your mmr is going to be increasing, meaning more LP/win and overall an upwards LP trend, and ultimately upward trend in rank.

Climbing out of bronze/silver for the first time is hard for sure. It's not because of all the feeders/afks/etc though, it's because you're new enough to the game that you don't necessarily even realise all the mistakes you're making, and so focus on the mistakes of others. When I first made the climb out of bronze a couple seasons back, I basically went on a big win streak from bronze 4 right up to silver 5, since something 'clicked' in me and I decided I wasn't going to die anymore. If my support/team wasn't going to ward properly, then instead of pushing up without vision and blaming team for the lack of wards, I'd simply just hug the tower until I could farm safely. If my team wants to all in on an ill-advised fight, then that's their business, I'll just be on the edge of the fight killing whoever I can do so safely, and peeling back once things inevitably go pear shaped, rather than yolo flashing into the fray. I'd certainly make mistakes (and still do), but every time I die, the question becomes "What could I have done differently to not die there?" and I try to figure that out and avoid making the same mistake.

These days, I'm having a rather hard time keeping my bronze 1 account from getting promoted, and continue to need to dodge the promo series matches.

I'm literally pushing without vision late game more or less ignoring my team (as a lone adc) in most of my games since I don't particularly want to win, but people just don't answer (or try to and just die in the process), and then their objectives all fall, and suddenly their nexus is exploding and I'm left wondering how people manage to get bronze 5 smurfs without intentionally feeding/afking. I'm not particularly mechanically gifted (I'm a sup main in reality) or anything like that that'd allow me to do any crazy 5v1 outplays, it's just I broadly know what to do to win games (at least compared to bronze/silvers), and don't take fights I don't want.

On that note there actually are some extremely mechanically gifted players in low elo. They tend to be rather emotionally immature, and refuse to believe that they could be part of the reason their team is losing since they have great cs and win 1v1s, but in the grand scheme of things, mechanics are a relatively small part of actually winning the game (as after all, past a certain elo, everyone is going to have decent mechanics). Climbing is very much about your mentality, and that's the biggest hurdle for many players to overcome, as accepting that you suck is a hard pill to swallow, but it's the first step to getting better.

It seems as if you didn't read anything I've said. You can't carry uncariable teams. Whenever I play verse plat or higher people in normals I also do really well. the list goes on kid. How are you going to get higher than 50percent win rate when over 50 percent of the time you get all the above. See? the facts are on my side

Mysticman891 votes

The first 3 happen just as frequently on the opposing side as your own. Actually slightly more often on the opposing side assuming you aren't any of those 3.

4 doesn't matter particularly, your mmr is what ultimately matters. if you need to win 3 games to get promoted instead of 2, that's just 1 more games worth of mmr increase, meaning bigger LP gains post-promotion.

5 won't happen if you have a decent mmr, losing 25-26 lp per match means your mmr is really low compared to the average of your division, and hence you're supposed to be falling, not rising.

6 you can dodge at champ select and only have LP as a penalty. Again MMR is what really matters, LP is basically just a cosmetic.

7 If your mmr is above your rank, then your gains will heavily outweigh your losses, to the point you could only win 50% of your games in a given stretch and still have gains.

8 as above if you're particularly unlucky you might get down to an only 50% win rate, but you'd still be climbing overall.

9 Yes, pros know how to win games and don't focus on their kda. Being overly focused on ones kda instead of actually winning the game tends to be what holds many players back.

10 the fact people smurfing bronze/silver don't get stuck, while those legitimately in bronze/silver do, and the fact that statistically you will tend to rise sheerly as a side effect of enemy afks/trolls/baddies (5 potential game throwers on the opposing team versus 4 on your own assuming you don't do those things) suggests that either those in 'elo hell' are actually bronze/silver level players, or that riot is specifically rigging the matchmaking to target you. If you believe the latter, there's probably not much to be gained from reason.

Every match has 10 people in it. each team has 5. If every game there is an afk/troll/bad-player, the chance that it will be in the opposing's team is 5/10, for them to be in your team is 4/10. Afks, trolls, and bad-players help good players win more games.

Anything that has to do with LP needs to be forgotten. What truly matters is MMR (Match Making Rating: pretty much your ELO. If your MMR is higher than your rank, than you will gain more LP. If your MMR is lower than your rank, you will gain less LP. Wins increase MMR, and losses decrease MMR. Dodging increases your MMR, so you should dodge whenever there is some kind of troll and stuff in your team in champion select to further decrease the chances of having a troll in your team.

Personally I have been in every rank from Bronze to Platinum and have never felt stuck. I have actually been in Silver 4 this season. Anyhow I this season also went from Gold 2 to gold 5, and broke my MMR gaining no lp, and losing a ton. Dodging + winning more than you lose eventually gets you back up, and I am not Platinum 5 with cabover average MMR.

Also diamond smurfs can get out of silver without losing more than 10 games. How can ELO hell exist when they can do that? You have a 51% winrate, keep it like that and you will climb. Albeit slow but you will climb. Plus you should play to improve to be able to carry better rather than blaming everything on outside factors. Blaming will not get you anywhere, you are the only factor in every game, and while many times you will not be able to carry an unwinnable game, as long as you play to the best of your abilities while trying to get better you will eventually climb.

Mysticman891 votes

Dodging doesn't increase your MMR, it simply doesn't lower it.

I presume you know that and just mistyped, but figured I should point that out. (You also say you're not plat 5, and I'm guessing you are.)

ÂzaIea1 votes

Plat 5 I mistyped, I am that rank. The dodging and MMR, it is simply faster and less annoying to type that it increases it as what it matters to people is that it slowly increases the lp you gain over time :P

Mysticman891 votes

Well sure, if done in appropriate situations. I just don't want people thinking the easy road to master is just dodge 100 games in a row to get a super MMR and than win 1 game and skip a ton of divisions, as would be possible if dodging itself raised your mmr.

irishchai2 votes

I played a couple rounds with him and if your team is not ahead he starts playing the blame game on your teammates. His post here proves that he does not have the right mind set on how to properly climb. He must recognize that he is his own worst enemy when it comes to climbing. Unless you learns to become levelheaded and LEARN TO CRITIQUE YOURSELF you will always be stuck down low so long as you believe you shouldn't be there. Elo hell doesnt exist your mentality puts you on that climbing plateau.

Commbustion1 votes

You're so mad. I didn't even read what you said because I know it is just you raging. Learn how to not feed and make shitty calls. You had over 10 deaths btw. You all sucked dick. I outclassed you in every way possible. You guys didn't listen to advice therefore you'll never get better

irishchai1 votes

You might want to get your facts right about who's raging. Your reply here proves my point that you will never learn how to climb like the rest of us if you keep up with that attitude. If you learn to listen I'll give you some advice kid. here's 3 set of skills you need to become a better player:

  1. Game Sense - know game mechanics, be able to anticipate, general game knowledge
  2. People Skills - know how to make people cooperate with you, how to keep the team cool and calm
  3. Attitude/Ego Control - you can only control one champion, yours, so make sure you focus on how you can improve and do better. if you are too busy complaining and watching how others are failing, you are not watching how you can do better.

There's more to league than not feeding. Looking at your stats I would just guess that you don't know what to do with your lead to turn it into a victory. you can have the best micro in the world and still lose games, because most of league is about macro play.

Commbustion1 votes

I know what to do with a lead. First of all, it's hard to get objectives when people don't listen to anything I type. Second of all, I barely have a lead. My team feeds trolls or goes afk every game Look at a replay.gg of mine. Also, I never focus on kda ever. It just happens to be high because im versing shit tier players.

Dynikus1 votes

if you know how to close out games, you should be at a huge advantage, since most players at lower elos don't know how to.

Commbustion1 votes

I do know how to close out games. But when you shotcall and your team refuses to listen because they're horrible. That's not my fault they don't listen. Also, most of the time we don't have a lead due to shit players trolls and afks

What are you talking about mate ? There are only wins in that matchlist with you carrying a lot of them.

All that lp gain gets negated though. Look at the replay.gg's that i've lost. All of the loses. Not one is my fault. trolls afks bad players
