Wasn't she the most OP tank and top laner? Now I barely see people picking her, both low and high elo.

She got nerfed, but it was a touch to much so now she's just slightly sub-par. Not by much and she can still do great overall but not as dominant as before.

Top lane is all about math, it's a game about getting the lead, whoever has the lead normally stays in the lead. Because it's such a mathmatical battle, every nerf, every patch matters. Honestly Top laners have to be the most meta adaptable players more so than any players.

she got nerfed REALLY hard and hasnt recovered even with follow up buffs.

tbh poppy is in a worse spot right now than she was pre rework atleast power wise.

Poppy's E (I believe?) requires the opponent to be pushed into a wall for the stun to take place. So already you need to be able to put yourself in the right position, waiting for the other laner to make a mistake. However, the E's range was nerfed, which means you have to be a decent bit closer, so positioning is harder. On top of that, its harder to catch the opposition by surprise, you have to be closer to actually use your E, and moving closer makes it very obvious what you're trying to do. Plus, having to be closer can distract you from farm, make you more vulnerable to ganks (though Poppy is one champion that doesnt have to worry about those so much thanks to her W and R).

I've played a decent bit of Poppy (not sure if I hit Level 6 but i'm definitely at least 5), you still play her the same way but its a decent bit harder to do your thing. I do agree that the range was a large part of how her stun was so good, but you can avoid it just by standing away from walls, turrets, etc, when Poppy is around. And unless you are already low on health or get ganked (or are so squishy you shouldnt be in the top lane anyway!), then Poppy can't 100-0.

The more I think about it, the more I realise that Poppy's stun nerf helps ranged champions like Quinn and Vayne the most, rather than typical melee tanks. So that's support Poppy out the window. And effective ganks are harder too. All in all, Poppy isn't really the best option for any lane (though her utility is useful in some areas). Which is why you don't see Poppy any more.

Before her wave of nerfs poppy was extremely tanky with the ability to get in and lock down(wall stun) a priority target and provide a little burst.

Now the wall stun is harder to get and they also decreased the burst by removing the reset on the passive.

Her ult has always been very situational and is still good but other champs have better ults. And her movespeed and anti dash field isn't actually that good. It stops a dash and then everyone dashes away right after because several champs have multiple low cd dashes so it is really only an inconvenience.

Right now she is tanky but more ignorance than other tanky champs with more cc or just a lot more damage.

She is basically Ryze all over again. Thrown in the dumpster because of a toxic kit and reworked into a very strong champ and now full circle again.

She is a cool champ. I play her on an ult account sometimes.
