Is this boosting?

I have 2 or 3 plat/gold friends that have smurf accounts in bronze and sometimes we rank together. Im bronze so i cant rank with them on their real account. They keep telling me that i do really good and (i main support) that it would be hard for me to get out of bronze as a support. They said they're sure i can do it as in their opinion im silver/gold support but it would just take too long.

We've played a few games together and i honestly didnt feel like i was being carried. They never played their main roles and they were just having fun. Most of those games i ended with 1/2/20 or even 30 assists. I feel like we win because we do good together as a team, i know that i wont have feeders and i know that my adc wont suck. The other 2 people on our team are bronze.

Is this boosting? I only did bad and got carried one game which could have happened in any other solo game but do u still think im being boosted? Because i wanna climb out on my own even though they keep convincing me that its not boosting so idk

P.s.: i know that in the terms of boosting it is but im wondering what you guys think

-Riot wont punish you -Its what infuriates higher elo players because ppl like you in bronze get "legally boosted" to a rank they cannot perform at alone. -It's abusing dynamic queue but again.. its "okay" -Yes i'll think less of you, especially if u get boosted high enough to be on my team and you feed/play like the other boosted animals.

-Do w.e the "fk" u wana do, cuz its your decision not ours. This season is already a joke.

Is a split hair subject in my eyes.

I don't think it should be "boosting" if you are also playing. If Gold-Plat players and you want to play ranked together with them being on "smurf" accounts whats really stopping them to do so, and what is wrong with it.

If I played ranked and got to Plat could I NEVER make another account or have friends or play with them ? 1 Make another account to "Smurf"/ Look at the pro LCS players they have like 5-6 accounts each and they got there playing ranked so they too are "Smurfs"

  1. Can't rank with Friends/ I thought this was a TEAM GAME and riot even says it themselves that League of Legends is a TEAM GAME hint: The Pro scene of TEAMS in the LCS. So the Plat and above can't make another account and play with you their only allowed to play Normal games with you ?
Sure if they "Boost" you to Diamond and you play 4-5 games without them and you "S$it the bed going 0-50 on a daily basis yeah expect a nice inspection from riot.

  2. Ranked TEAMS if you play as a team I don't think there isn't anything wrong with that as its the point of the Dynamic Team 5v5 Ranked.

2.B Like I Said before if they "boost" you to an elo that you don't belong in don't cry "wolf" to riot about "balanced" " OP" etc etc.

You might want to get another opinion on the matter but like I said before this topic is a Splitting hair type of subject.

Good post and topic and Have a Good One

You can rank up by being a good support. My plat school friend did it maining Janna.

Of couurse you're a bit more dependant on your team. But don't mind when your team feeds hard, or one guy feeds hard, because in 100 games such cases balance out (everyone feeds) I have shitty badluck games but when it happens I just think "I'll probably and eventually end up in the opposite situation", and it does so, my team goes 30 to 9 or so. It happens.

Tip the scales by being a good player ;D

no it's not boosting, it's using dynamic queue to your advantage. It's not fair, but it's perfectly fine.

Also, if you're bronze, you're not a gold level support, hate to break it to you. The reason you're doing well is because your team is doing very well. If i queue up with challengers players that carry me i would do good aswell, because they would kill everyone and i would just be near them to back them up and get a ton of assists resulting in a huge KDA, and eventually the enemy will be so weak i can solo them.

I think it is boosting. That said, IF once you reached Silver/Gold you have as much success as when you were in Bronze, or better, who am I to complain? My issue with boosting is that if you (generic you) drag down your team of randoms once you play alone, I could be one of that randoms, and I'll hate you. But if you're just stuck in your personal ELO Hell and a little boosting can help you get back on track, cheers.

(And now brace for downvotes, I don't care.)

Although, that's not the question you asked, but I'd be more angry with your friends than with you. Playing at full capacity in Ranked with a smurf (so, not in their off roles or with champs they are unfamiliar with), that's really not fair for their opponents. Getting stomped in lane by a player 2 Tiers above you, that's not fun, and that doesn't even help you progress.

Maybe you should have 2 accounts, one specifically for playing in organized team with your friends, the other to play solo? ;)

Its 100% boosting and not even needed to be discussed. I actually emailed riot a ticket on the matter about several summon like sevinbit anaroo and bunch others who are diamond players playing on smurf acct's claiming to be just playing with there bronze friends but dramatically increasing there rank in process. Riots response was thorough and said they would be doing an investigation on the matter and that they take the matter seriously!

My hopes is to spread the word because this is becoming a serious problem in solo que nowadays especially since the adapatation of dynamic que. Riot also discussed in previous post that dynamic que is more of a test then a permanent thing and that if it continues to be abused that it would meet changes in the furure.

Playing with friends is not boosting. Dynamic Queue makes sure of that.
