The one thing that might save Master Yi

Of all the changes I've seen to Master Yi over the years, only one of them really decimated him at the time.

Patch Notes 3.10a: Highlander ------ Now passively reduces the remaining cooldown for Master Yi's basic abilities by 70% on a kill or assist (instead of 18 seconds on kill or 9 seconds on assist

As a Master Yi main who was enjoying his rework from AP Yi to AD Yi in Patch 3.10, I knew the yi nerfs were coming. but I didn't think they would target his iconic resets (Yi-sets). In Retrospect they were much needed. Yi's new rework at the time was dominating in all aspects of the game.

BUT!!!! that's the thing......... The GAME has CHANGED! This is not the same game as it was in season 3. Back then we didn't even have an dedicated item slot for wards. We were still playing on the older version of SR, attack speed Junglers bought Wriggles Lantern, and Dominion was still a game mode. Not to mention Rift Harold, Elemental Drakes, Smite Buffs from monsters. Allot of things have changed in this game. And yet that nurf on yi remains. With that nurf a lot of Yi players had to switch to an On-hit Tank build popularized by our Jesus (yi-sus) cowsep, thereby alienating the High-risk Crit build.

So TL;DR Please give Master Yi back his full resets, this is a entirely different game from season 3 (less individual snowball and more team oriented play). Giving Yi back his full reset might not solve everything that's wrong with him but it will bring back his fast paced style which I loved and also might improve his build diversity. Trust me, there is no better feeling than chaining alpha strikes back to back (feels so satisfying). Ty Riot.

A little something from back in the day (Full-Reset pre nurf Yi) https://youtu.be/eQAlqQxvlu8 That first alpha strike reset chain at 0:19 should have made your mouth drop.

The problem is, Riot is intentionally keeping Yi underpowered because Riot has this policy of trying to balance for all elos. So that happens is that champs who have a tendency to stomp noobs a lot like him will never get the fair treatment he deserves because newbies are killed by him left and right for not being able to CC him.

Yi is borderline a troll pick in higher elos at this stage. But that's still not stopping Riot from avoiding to give some chance for him to be competitive, for fears of thread spams by lower elos complaining about him. Also you've got the years of mental conditioning, that have been preaching the ideas that Yi is a "noob champ", "OP" and "no skill" that is thus not deserving to be competitive or some other crap that is taught to players for god knows how long, to thank as well.

So as sad as it sounds, a more productive thing really is to just get used to the handicap. Just like how all Yi players must endure the flaming from everywhere they go and almost everything they do.

Yi's resets are dumb, they make him do more damage with his Q than his autos to squishies... -_-

Yeah its fine resetting his mobility and evasion, but it also resets his damage which is fucking stupid.
