I strongly feel that one of the things that allowed me to get into gold from silver last season was buying green wards.. I made a huge effort to buy green wards when i could and it feelsbadman to know its not an aspect of league anymore.

Yep. One of my biggest strengths as a player last season was my insane ward placement for a midlaner. I placed an average of ~20 wards to per game IIRC. Now that Yellow Trinket is irredeemable garbage.....well, that kind of stuff is impossible.

One of my greatest strengths as any laner was that I placed more wards than the support, and sometimes the entire collective of the team. Vision lived and died by my hands, and it felt empowering that even if I wasn't as mechanically strong as everyone else, I was able to ensure that those who were good would not die to ganks, or were able to catch people out.

Now even as a Support I feel helplessly without agency to control the vision game due to the incredibly limiting ways to get vision now. I almost feel like Sightstone + Yellow/Blue Trinket is a good idea as a Support, just to keep ahead of the vision game.

Provided vision ofc.. they were sightstone wards basically but u would purchase then for 75g each and once u placed them they wouldn't refill, I'm u had to buy them again. But it was worth it.

Honestly I would prefer Yellow Trinkets be put back to the state they were, and the upgraded yellow trinket be reinstated, along with the "pink" trinket.

I'm okay with no green wards, but not with yellow trinkets being nerfed along with Sightstone having less charges and less time on wards. I don't find the current system of warding more "tactical" I find it more frustrating because people just play silly or way too paranoid and games are actually lasting longer the more this Meta goes, instead of games going quicker (including pro games). The average game time in pro games has gone up quite a bit over the past few weeks because teams are so paranoid, as losing one team fight past 20 minutes can mean losing half your map.

Losing a fight with more than 1 death means game over after 25-30

back in the day wards had no cap, so as a support you'd gather an inventory full of wards and just light up the map by yourself. it meant you had next to no money left

and that's why the ward cap was introduced, it's no reason we can't get green wards back.

If you hated it so much just don't buy the wards then. I got through seasons 3 - 5 with a 60%+ win rate maining Thresh without buying a single green ward, and I never got shit from my teammates about it.

Hell, I think I actually had an easier time when the enemy support bought lots of wards because during mid game I would be a lot stronger than them due to having a lot more gold in items, which was often enough to turn the balance on skirmishes.

Just because something is there as an option doesn't mean you have to do it.

Unlimited green wards might've been, green wards didn't make the support role more hated than it was, the ward cap fixed it.

Just make green wards stack in inventory the way health potions do. I don't see why that's difficult. But let's be fair, everyone gets 2 free wards and can buy a vision, but they won't even use the free ones.

This is all I want.

I used to buy the old upgraded yellow trinket every game.

Now it sucks balls. Recharges so slowly and wards last way less.

I just want the old Green Trinket back. Its totally unfair in SoloQ. If I want to play split push, my wards only last like 1 minute, and I need like 4 minutes in the first place to get the stacking up to 2 + a pink ward. The jungler will not ward for me. The support will not ward for me.

Personally? No. Sorry for the vision lovers out there, but this makes more meaningful to place the wards in the right spot imho.

Also in this game consumables in slots feel bad. I would consider buying temporary extra charges for my trinkets, however.

there should be an extra slot for consumables like pots and pinks. it would make itemization so much better. Especially later in the game when you don't have room for pinks

I know we should. Every time I take a step on the rift and I think to myself "emerald for insight" I think of my emerald colored wards giving me insight on where the enemy laners are. Sadly this piece of dialogue has been rendered obsolete :(

i agree, i am only about to place 1 pink ward. unless i buy a sightstone or one of those other useless items there really isn't enough vision

especially when trying to deal with champs like Evelynn and Shaco i mean i had a sightstone i had a pink ward down i had 3 wards placed and i STILL couldn't see shako coming. and even if he doesn't kill us.. he kills the pink ward.

I miss wards. They added a whole next level of skill to the game, and if someone couldn't understand why they were important they deserved to get ganked/lose.

They won't bring it back no matter how much the community wants it. Riot tends to make changes due to LCS and very rarely cares about what we have to say item 3070

Just get the yellow trinket and keep a pink ward up at all times, one person can ward 1/4 of the map and there are 4 people on your team that aren't supports...

That would make sense if it wasn't so easy to clear vision right now as well. Only problem I have with the current vision game. I don't mind the lack of putting wards as much as that combined with how good the upgraded sweeper is, visible blue trinkets that are one shot clear, and pink wards can just be hit and cleared easy. Not even counting the fact of raptor buff with smite that makes it even easier to clear vision.

Yea, both changes hurt real bad. When I play support, I'll usually just run out, drop three wards, and back just to have the ability to adjust my vision control. Most other classes I just spam my trinket on cooldown cause the map is always so dark.

Yeah , we definetly need wards back. I can't even climb because im camped and the enemy jungle does like 100 ganks in 1 minute and i am like "Holy fuck , i can't see shit" [slayer-jinx-catface]

I would love greens to return. If I can't have my upgraded trinket at least let me have the option to buy greens. The cooldowns are too long and leave me without vision. Especially when my Jungler is on the other side of the map. [zombie-nunu-bummed]

I sympathize with people who think that there is too little vision, but sacrificing one person's gold and inventory space was not a healthy way to decide the amount of vision a team should have. That was what led to most of what people used to hate about the support role and now... hate somewhat less, because it's still not gone. item 2049 may not be AS bad for the player who has it as spamming 75 gold wards forever, but that doesn't make it good.

That's why I disagree with the OP. Green wards in their old form should not be brought back; instead the current pink ward, sightstone and tracker's should be eliminated and replaced with an independent vision system that does not consume gold to use or take up slots in the regular inventory. Trinkets were a good first step, but Riot should build on them so that everything that provides vision has the same key properties as trinkets (anyone can build them, they don't delay or interfere with your purchase of items that give stats and combat actives).

This is a good example of why Riot usually doesn't revert changes; they changed because there was something wrong with the old way, so if there turns out to be something else wrong with the new way, they shouldn't go back to the way that was already proved to be bad, they should change again to a third approach.

We need more wards in the new system or more charges on sightstone although supports should not have the burden of warding the map it should be a team effort not a jungler and support thing I want to ward and help my team to I should not have to play Jungler or support to accomplish this. If you lose a fight do to a shaco flank or any character really there should be wards on the map to prevent this from happening yet most hardly ward so you could have a great lead but then they snipe your carry rush barron then it's over we need green wards to combat this issue so the game state will be balanced again.

They need them back, the only reason they took them out is cause they don't want people to learn hoe to play the game and they don't want people to be better than everyone else and have an advantage over them.
