Bounty System changes are horrible
The new bounty system encourages Kill Stealing, selfishness, and non-interaction. Why use your abilities if you can't kill with them? Wait for someone else to use theirs first. They promote toxicity within this game which already does it enough as is inherently.
Real life example: we're losing a game hard, and during an ill-advised dive by the enemy team, I hit a 4 man Orianna Shockwave, which is then layered with an Irelia ult and MF ult. MF gets quadra and 1500 gold, I get 350 gold. Why should I shockwave there? I don't gain enough from it personally, and I don't think my team gains enough from it as a whole either. Previously, it was much better for my team and my chances of winning.
Everyone knows the feeling of outplaying someone who is way ahead to have a teammate swoop in at the last second and get the kill. With the bounty system revert, this feels TERRIBLE. In the previous bounty system, it felt less bad. Additionally, supports sometimes get those kills when they don't want them, now both people involved in the play are upset about it and that leads to more toxicity.
If the goal is to punish the ahead individual LESS in those situations (so they can maintain their lead) then maybe this change will be successful to that goal. But it makes the overall game experience worse for everyone and discourages teamwork. What that one person gains in agency is lost from nine others.
(Also let's make the point the ahead individual is not always the "best" player on the team or in the game, but is often the one who had the most lane-dominant matchup. This makes the game harder to win for players with teammates who feed, and I thought the goal was not to have the game determined by the worst player?)
It's not going to change back, but I wanted to voice this. This is a terrible change for game health. I wonder if Roti will see an uptick in toxicity and bans?
