Zoe Paddle Star = New Old Nidalee Javelin Toss

With Zoe, Riot has just added something back into the game they took out because, according to them, it was unhealthy.

Javelin Toss: Nidalee tosses her javelin, dealing a maximum 180 / 232.5 / 285 / 337.5 / 390 (+120% of ability power) magic damage on impact and marking her target as Hunted. ^Old javelin toss (from https://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/ability/javelin-toss-takedown-192) - Website might not be the most safe Now, why did you change that roti?

"With her oppressively high spear damage and catlike (maybe just cat-ish) elusiveness, Nidalee's been a contentious low-risk, low-interaction champion for quite some time. Specifically, old Nidalee's gameplay often revolved around the question of "when should I stop throwing spears?" to which the answer was typically "never." " (from Patch 4.10 Notes )

Ohh, i'm glad you nerfed that out of the game. You made a champion that had no reason to commit on any interaction until she had already won due to her oppressive long range spammable poke. I can see how that would "solve" the game, or at least take a large amount of fun out for all players.

Paddle Star: MAXIMUM MAGIC DAMAGE: 100 / 175 / 250 / 325 / 400 (+ 165% AP) (from http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Zoe)

You're comparing two different abilities, though. Just because they have the same damage numbers doesn't mean they're in any way comparable.

Nidalee's spear was just fire and forget. You threw spears towards the enemy team and eventually one landed and then that person was either dead or they had to recall.

Zoe's either doesn't do anywhere near as much damage as old Nid spear, or it requires you to actually fire it backwards, which makes it very easy to dodge without the addition of some form of CC. It's a much more involved ability.

The problem with Nidalee's spear was never just the damage it dealt. It was the damage combined with the massive hitbox, the incredible safety of the champion, and the extremely low difficulty from the Nidalee player's side. Zoe's Q does the same damage, but it doesn't do any of these other things.

The main difference between the old Nidalee javelin toss and Zoe Paddle star is quite big however: Nidalee never had to get anywhere near the target and she could and still can just transform to a kitty and jump away to escape. Instead Zoe has to get relatively close (within 800 units) for at least a second to get het arguably more difficult skill shot to the target. Also; Zoe has no escape other than the short movement speed boost from W unlike Nidalee.
