What items should I build for ADC?

I have always been a little confused with how I should build my characters. I'm sure it varies a little depending on which champion you pick but here is what I have been doing:

bezerk grieves Blade of the ruined king phantom dancer infinity edge blood thirster ravenous hydra

in that order, and usually I am able to get pretty fed as long as i play it smart. I normally use Sion, and Trundle. Lately I have been having games where I suck horribly and i'm the lowest level on the team. Then I look to see what everyone else in the game is building and the majority seems to not even build crit at all and get 20 kills easily. So my question is what exactly is the best way to build a melee adc? should I just forget crit and go all out damage and lifesteal or should I be building in some different order? Thank you.

(I would like you to look at this as if it were meant for an assasin. Trundle and Sion are just my examples because that is who I like to play and I want to build them as ADC. I know many of you think that is a bad idea but just help me maximize my DPS please, it does not matter the champion, just something I could use with most assassins would be perfect. )

It all varies by champ that being said, trundle and sion are not ADCs

Trundle is a fighter mainly and potential tank. With his kit you only need 1-2 damage items and teh rest should be defensive items. some of the most common damage items on him are triforce, bork, and ravenous hydra. i'd recommend picking one you feel fits him the most for each matchup you play against each game, and i'd probably say to not build more than 2 of these items. Spirit visage is good on him because it boosts his healing even further, especially on his ult.

Same with sion, he's mainly a tank but can be a fighter, should be building mostly defensive items and only a few damage items like black cleaver because CDR, hp, and shredding, or tytanic hydra for damage that scales with his free hp passive. warmogs works well since its healing also scales with his free hp.

if you want to play an actual melee ADC, i'd recommend Tryndamere. He hits hard, has a gap closer, a slow, free crit, no mana costs, and his ult allows him to annoy the crap out of people. His kit allows him to build full damage without having to worry about defense because his ult keeps him alive regardless of how much damage he takes while he dishes damage back out by the crap ton.
