this game is stupid because riot doesnt care about skill based gameplay only mass appeal

schübert··3 votes·1,574 views

riot is stupid greedy company does not care about making balanced and skill based game only stupid gimmicks so everyone and their mother can have success so more people play and they make more money and meanwhile the game is a joke but the most frustrating thing is that here and there u actually do have a game where u have a skill based matchup and the game is actually even and its really fun and u chase that cause u got a taste of how cool a moba could be but then the next game the experience is trash

skill based gameplay: being effective with a champion should actually require skill AND even if youre doing well there should still be potential for fun counterplay from ur opponents.

What is a skill based matchup

schübert1 votes

where u have to actually get in the mind of ur opponent and u both have the opportunity to outplay each other rather than some stupid farm fest or gimmicks that are just unfun to play against

e.g. skill based: Velkoz Ahri Cassiopeia stupid: Akali Heimerdinger Malzahar

DuskDaUmbreon2 votes

Malz and Heimer aren't really kept strong, they've been kept kinda weak.

And Akali takes more skill than any of the three you listed first.

doesnt matter if theyre weak if i have to lane against them and the first 15 min of the game is boring as hell. i know that akali takes skill to play but youve got to recognize that when shes played well, she has little counterplay. ooh look i pressed w and now im literally invisible haha so fun! oh look i just dashed literally across the entire screen and oneshot u whoopsie haha!!

we can argue about specific champs and abilities all day but i just want a game where i dont dread having to play against so many champs and if more champs are what i like to call skill based it would be a much more enjoyable game for me

...Akali has one of the largest skill requirements in League, to the point where she was fucking useless in solo Q and still dominating most pro-play matches. Her mains were pushing 60% winrate on average, while Akali's total average was around 45%. There are incredibly few champions with that much of a skill level requirement that isn't because of strength in coordinated play - the only other two coming to my mind being Riven (for reasons we're all well aware of) and Singed (because it's basically an entirely different game from League when playing Singed).

u just gonna completely ignore my point like an absolute pepega? i really have to say it again? really?

i know that akali takes skill to play but youve got to recognize that when shes played well, she has little counterplay.

u realize that ur ignoring this aspect of skill based gameplay right? there has to be counterplay. i dont care if a champion takes a lot of skill to play, thats only one side of it. if as soon as you become comfortable with a champion you eliminate counterplay from your opponents that is blatantly stupid design.

its funny because i can tell that when these illogical replies start getting more upvotes than mine i can tell that im talking to the casual players who dont care about skill based gameplay, only like getting handed candy.

Ahri skillbased? Velkoz skillbased? Akali what the fuck are you even talking about here

what am i supposed to reply to if u dont make any points? u trying to say that skillshots such as ahri charm and velkoz q dont take skill and have no counterplay when theyre literally skillshots?

so... somehow Cassiopeia hitting you with a Q once and then constantly Eing you till you are either dead or the poison wears off is more skillful than Akali ? ok dude whatever you say

schübert1 votes

yes the difference is that cass q is a skillshot that is difficult to hit if u actually focus and play the game and try to anticipate it. whereas akali presses the w key and suddenly shes literally invisible and for a lot of matchups the only "COUNTERPLAY" is to walk away (such bad and unfun design its laughable xD)

It's not like Cass Q has a short CD or that her W achieves the same effect or anything. You have no idea what "skill" even means

schübert1 votes

of course u people are going to argue every little tiny specific point about any champ or ability i mention and ignore my larger point [slayer-pantheon-thumbs] i could argue ur points about how cass apparently takes no skill even tho shes regarded as a very difficult champ to have a high winrate but idc

The thing you have to understand is that there are so many different champions in this game that skill expression expression comes in so many forms. As an example I play a lot of velkoz and he revolves around landing his q in lane to setup combos with his e and w to procn his passive then finish with my ult. Heimerdinger is about pushing lane to force 1v2 scenarios that he can win and malz is generally a pusher who counter assasins. On the point of assasins I know this board like to shit on them but they are honestly difficult to play and takes a lot of experience and skill to know there safety ranges . I personally play artillery mages a lot because I enjoy that play style but they are also the easiest champion to play safe as all they have to do is stay really far away from people.

i see what ur saying. i know it takes skill as an assassin to know when u can safely engage, ive had a lot of fun playing ekko because his ult lets u experiment with this a lot. my problem with assassins tho is say ur winning ur lane and ur botlane feeds their enemy rengar. now the gameplay experience for me is trash. if i step out from under my tower without knowing where he is he just runs up to me and oneshots me. its boring. doesnt matter if rengar had to do skillful plays to get to that point of being fed if once he reaches that point the game is simply unfun for his opponents. i think that is bad design.

maybe mobas just arent for me i dont know but i dont like the idea of not having counterplay. like say im a fed velkoz, the enemy can still outplay me by dodging my skillshots. u see the difference?

about heimer, the idea of the purpose of a champ being to literally afk push lane is soo ret4rded to me. that is such boring design. and same with malz if the whole point of the champ is that u click on an assassin so they cant move for 5 seconds while u drain half their hp that is so unskillful and boring for both people. but it appeals to some people. thats my point about how riot prioritizes mass appeal rather than a more skill based game.

Velkoz is literaly Hit an e then press every single buttom on that spot. Puting a word skill and velkoz in same sentence XD

While akali is easly in top 5 hardest champions to fully master

schübert1 votes

and what is velkoz's e? a slow ass skillshot. there is room for counterplay in his kit to the point that if u want to be effective u have chain ur abilities to consistently land them, e.g. confusing ur opponent to walk into e with ur w or slowing them by hitting ur q first. wow, mind games in a moba, who would think?

about akali ill just repost my other reply.
