draft pick should be available for new accounts, blind pick is so bad

look at my match history. https://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=sch%C3%BCbert im vs zed, yasuo, or akali last 8/11 games. 5/11 were zed.

this is unprecedented levels of cancer.

im trying to learn cassiopeia cause i really like this champ and im only verse zed. why rito are you so inept? nobody plays draft at this elo cause they dont unlock enough champs (its actually easy to have 20 available since it includes free rotation, but it says you need 20 owned). so it takes forever to find a draft game and when i do, i think ive gotten mid 1/8 or so times.

draft should be the default mode. blind pick is unbelievable cancer if ur actually trying to have a match with integrity. like my last game, 2 people lock in adc and proceed to argue for 15 minutes while feeding and then one of them finally goes afk. like come on riot. blind pick is a ret4rded crapshoot. draft pick should be the mode pushed on new players.

i wonder how many new players have been scared off from this game because of cancer blind pick games. ever think of that one riot?

What do you expect riot to do? give 20 free champions on account creation and lose money? There's no chance of that happening. Would love to see it though, but there's danger to it as more smurfs would start playing and more toxic players will continue being toxic because they'll be able to create accounts and level to 30 and if they have champions too..

I really dislike blind pick and i remember the days when that was the only option to play the game, we've gone so far from back then.

If you want change maybe suggest a solution? I don't quite see it, how could this be solved?

you dont actually need to own 20, you only need to own 6 because the free rotation provides 14. in the client it says you must "own" 20 for draft but it should be "available", ranked is when you need to own 20. they already give you a few champs in new account challenges and giving 6 champs isnt a stretch, theres like 140 after all.

i dont think thered be more smurfs, theres already a lot and theyd be popping off in draft rather than blind pick, same difference if you ask me.

i still think blind pick should exist so people can try champs without worrying about them being banned but i strongly think that draft should be the mode presented to new players as the default mode as its much less of a crapshoot and more representative of the actual game. and so i can fucking ban zed xD

Problem with that idea is that its free rotation, most new players will have issues learning new champions when they don't even know how to play the game yet. Some players can't play a lot and maybe don't want to spend money, so if a new player has a few champions and only knows how to play them, what will he do when his champions get banned in draft pick?

Also i don't think new players can jungle, they are more useful in lane because if on one team there's no jungler and the enemy has 2 champions in top lane, your teammate will probably lose as he doesn't know how to play the game, having him play against 2 champions is harsh.

I agree with you that it is better representation of the game but there is just so much to learn in league, there's like 143 champions and game is already quite complex, teach new players how to jungle at the same time.

thats a good point about how it would be tough on new players if their champs are banned. but with blind pick you still have the issue of people not being able to get a role they like and ending up in some weird matchup which can be just as unpleasant. i think with 143 champs to work with it would be easy enough to give a sufficient amount of champs to players, like idk 5-8 rather than 3-4 doesnt seem problematic to me. hell they already give you a few shards that you can unlock for free or disenchant for 2400 BE and you can unlock a load of cheap BE champs with that so they already basically give you a lot of champs.

from a business perspective i think it makes sense cause i can see a lot of people getting tired of the blind pick format of having to type in the chat as soon as you can to call ur role and then somebody might be a dick anyway and still go there. if this annoys people and scares them away before they ever even try draft then theyre losing potential long term customers.

about jungling, riot could come out with a very basic tutorial for jungling like they do with laning and that would help this. draft might even be better for a lack of junglers cause you eliminate those weird games where theres a 2v1 top and the one junlger gets too much free farm. and if they give you a couple junglers (they already give you yi, could give you like warwick or something cause hes already 450 BE champ) and they make a cool little tutorial about a basic jungle path more new players would queue up for it.

Honestly they don't have to give players anything. They could just remove the whole "need 16 champions OWNED" and put it as "need 16 champions available". Then they could allow players to use the last 2 or 3 free champion pools that don't own 16 champions.

i mentioned it in my other reply but you dont actually need to own 20 for draft, its actually 20 AVAILABLE and free rotation is 14 so you only need 6 which they could easily give to new players.

Oh, I thought you had to OWN 16, last I checked that was the case. If you need 6 to play draft that's simple, there are lots of 450 IP champions.

yeah im doing it right now, i can queue up fine owning 7, i own one thats in free rotation so it overlaps and only counts for one. i guess theres a potential issue there if someone's owned champs overlap the free rotation but with 140 champs its very unlikely especially if you get a few 450 BE champs like you mentioned. for ranked you need to actually own 20 but in the client it says "own" for both so its kind of misleading.

thats a good point but riot could come out with a very basic tutorial for jungling like they do with laning and that would help this. youre still gonna have a lack of new players jungling with blind pick or draft so might as well make the default mode draft anyway
