Cassie changes, why?
I understand the idea that no one was totally happy with Cassie's kit and that it could of definitely used some changes, but I don't understand the reasoning behind the ones you made. Cassie filled a decent slot as a late game damage dealer with early game utility in lane via zone control and occasional spike damage.
This patch stripped her of her late game power spike while also kneecapping her mobility through the early to mid part of the game. This has made her less viable early game due to increased ease of ganking while doing nothing to compensate her late game for the massive lack of power. The changes to her W are pretty meh, the grounded status doesn't stop all movement abilities inside the AoE(notably Amumu's bandage toss) it doesn't stop movement abilities that move through it either, meanwhile you are limited to casting it at max range which means that once an enemy is inside of that range it's a useless ability. Her old W allowed you to cast it short of max range giving you a means to provide a buffer against someone charging in on you, increasing her viability through the early game.
Her Q is scaling higher, with better base damage, but the cost has also been increased and the range decreased making it way less useful for trading in lane or poking enemies, combined with the casting delay it means that most enemies just walk clear and you do no damage. The increased mana costs are painful when combined with the changes to mage items and mana regen. Her E feels very, very meh now, the removal of her cooldown reduction in exchange for more damage lowers her overall dps sometimes by quite a bit if you can't stay close enough to the enemy to fire it a couple of times. With the old cooldown reduction affect you could stick two fangs then back, now you are lucky to get one.
Cassie has always been a less mobile mage, with her kit compensating for it by making it painful to get close to her, now anyone who wants can just walk up to you and kill you without any fear of cost at any point of the game.
The flip side of her passive is that you replaced it with a penalty (no boots) which means no spell penetration early game, no tenacity, no extra cd reduction if you need it, essentially it robs her of early game flexibility that in conjunction with her other changes leaves her even more vulnerable. The movement speed on her passive barely compensates for the movement speed lost to not having boots, only in the late game does it give you an advantage, with the early to mid game having you unable to outrun anyone who has boots.
Why Riot? I don't understand the reasoning behind these changes and I really would like to, right now I feel that there's no point in playing her because she's feels so terrible without any of the strength or utility she used to have.
