so I'm a support main...

I started Maining support in season 4. I mostly played support and jungle because those were the hardest things to find in team builder and I hated the long waits. I was also intimidated by solo lanes. Farming, mechanics, direct one on one competition all made me uncomfortable.

As time went on I got better at support, expanded my champion pool and started playing ranked. I placed Silver 5 after my first ever placements (season 5) but quickly decayed to bronze 5 because frankly I wasn't good enough. So I stopped playing ranked and played exclusively normals and ARAM. I got very familiar with most of my champions and have a couple of go to Champs for each position.

I started plain ranked again this season but even though I regularly play against golds and silvers and even the occasional platinum in normals, I couldn't drag myself out of the bronze 5 abyss as a support. 1 step forward and two steps back constantly. The usual complaints; some lane feeds, my ADC too aggressive, no followup on my initiations and yes I have bad games too.

I've come to the realization that even if I'm flawless, you just can't carry your way out of bronze as a support. So I've been playing exclusively top and mid this weekend. And you know what? I jumped two divisions in like 12 games. I'm 75% win or better. Perhaps I'll play support again after I get to silver and see if things change...

support in B5 is hard as it relies on people knowing what to do to follow up (and them knowing how to CS is a big part.)

Once you get into the upper bronze, you start to see better ADCs that can farm better.

Also, if you are looking to control the game, try jungling. People can't deal with constant aggro / turret dives.

I've heard the higher the elo the better supporting is.

I'm a supp main and ranked Silver II last season (it was my first time doing ranked). I did ok, I did play some mid and top too, but as far as supporting goes I had some good adcs and some really really toxic ones that just fed and afk'd later in the game.

Well I am in my placements now, 2 to go, not great (2-6), I am scared of bronze... but I am determined that even if I end up there I will fight my way up as a support main. I have done harder things in life before I will fight and not give up until I do it. The harder it is the more rewarding it is when you achieve it.

Imagine how good a support you will be once you get out with actually good teammates?
