Graves' rework has achieved what Urgot was meant to be

Not sure if anyone else has brought up this topic, but has anyone else realized the new Graves has done what Riot tried to do with Urgot?

Think about it. Graves is a short range marksman with innate tankiness, a build centered around CDR, tank stats, and armor pen, and he is rewarded for staying in a fight by being given free resistances. The only real difference is Graves has high wave clear and burst, where as Urgot is more of a poker with his Acid Hunter.

But hey, I think this Graves rework is a step in the right direction for when Riot eventually reworks our big crab monster.

urgot has no focus on his auto attacks though, and those aspects of graves were still present pre-rework. urgot is essentially a ranged AD mage, which is why his position is confusing, as other AD casters are given the simple role of assassin, but urgot isn't an assassin. he's a long-ranged poke-mage, much like ziggs or xerath, with an old and confused kit that displays elements of a tank/bruiser champion along with a ranged AD poke mage, all wrapped up in the extremely unfitting "marksman" tag.

Urgot originally wasn't classified as a marksman--he is the league's original AD caster and, prior to the following seasons basically phasing him out, he used to be a hilariously annoying and effective solo laner. I've always felt he deserves the Fighter label, rather than the newer marksman one, because going neck-deep into a fight with that now-underwhelming Ult and closing in for the kill with Q and AA alike seem a lot more akin to beefier ADs.

There are definitely comparisons that can be drawn from each of em, but a lot of differences too--like Urgot's crit-scaling deficit and huge mana gating--that make him feel less like an ADC and more like a solo lane-bully.

When crabgot gets reworked I hope that he retains at least a portion of his original identity. There are a lot of gimmicky parts to his kit that used to make him borderline impossible to play against without losing brain cells, but the whole 'spray em with acid and punish them even if they try to bail' thing was really cool back in the day. I dont really play him anymore though :^/
