Indecision to select champion in ranked kicks you?

I'm new to ranked and I got knocked out of the Que twice so far because of not pressing accept with a champion highlighted and I think it's totally annoying. Now i have to wait 30 minutes. Where when you play normal you can select the champion highlighted then it doesn't matter if you pressed accept or not. I can see why this would be a big deal? Having a highlight champion that you might not have wanted and it accepted it. But.. It's the indecision and me not being quick enough to press accept at the last second. Wow great more wait time...meh
