Hi I was wondering why no1 plays karthus? Sure his early game is pretty horrible but his late game is amazing. I love to 2 or 3 hit q the adc and they die. But the only down side I think is if your playing against a team with heavy initiation your fucked lol
The main reason msot people aren't playing karthus (take it from an Karthus main in Season 0 (best days of karthus life) is he just hard to master for most people, cause you can't leave your E on nearly 24/7 and it best to leave off early game as while it off you get mana back when you kill minions , but when you are vsing high mobility common pick for mid laners, like Yasuo , Zed and talon , it hard to pin them down as they have ways to avoid the Q and then you burn lots of mana with E active.
Also not many people know when your undead Karthus you can cast Q/Q/W/R where they are jsut spaming Q's only, and most the champion are being play are higih moblity right now, and also ways to remove the slows/debuffs.
and Also cause Soraka is an high pick rate with people it kinda counter karthus ult, since she heal more then they are below x% hp.
but i do get to play my Karthus from time, to time.

So i can understand why you feel that, but just know usely you wantto build around your team , so if your team lack the AP and more AD , then depend onthe ap you need, if you can just be an team fight ap , karthus is an good pick, but if it lane control, and ect, you need other ones , that are more viable .
I play Karthus, and I actually find his Early game pretty damn strong. ...If you know how to Q that is.
The reason i simple. Karthus requires more investment to reward ratio for most people.
Karthus' early game is pretty awful. There's a myriad of reasons why he's not popular right now but the games being shorter is definitely one of them.
If they're playing a team with heavy initiation just let them waste everything on you then throws some Q and hit R and you win the teamfight
I'm not playing Karthus without Revive. After Phantoml0rd showed me the true way to play him, every other way feels sick and wrong, so I'm waiting for it to come back. Maybe it won't come back, and maybe I'm not playing Karthus ever again - he's just not even remotely fun without Revive/TP for me.
His late game is not even good, everybody will have a zhonyas or some defensive item.
His mid game is good, but once opponent gets any defensive item he feels so useless.
