Slow motion League? WTF happened in the last few hours?

So I just played a game like 5 minutes ago as of the writing of this post. I hadn't played for almost a day. I log in, queued up for ranked and went through champ select. During loading, I noticed the upper left hand corner. My ping was 60. That wasn't all that weird since during loading, pings tend to be a lot lower than normal. The game starts and there it was, 60 ping. At first I was like, ok this is nice. I assumed my ISP did some kind of upgrade while I was sleeping or maybe Riot made some kind of improvement to their NA servers. My normal ping on the NA server is 110. I've been playing at that ping since season 5 on NA.

So I started playing and I noticed something rather odd. The game was playing in slow motion for me. Everything was moving so slowly as if reality was moving at half speed. I thought it was some kind of glitch, and it may well be. I played that entire game in slow motion. After the game ended, I loaded up a custom game quickly to see if it was some kind of one off thing but it wasn't. So now I'm thinking that Riot made some kind of change but I can find no information on it. After locking in this post, I'm going to search Reddit because so far I've only scanned these boards and the patch notes.

For anyone curious about what it felt like to play in slow motion. I have to say I have mixed feelings. My performance that game was like God mode because I had so much time to respond to things. I could kite like a god. I could take my time to micro manage team fights and not make as many mistakes. It was fuckin beautiful. But on the other hand, it felt a bit tedious, especially when doing stuff like walking to lane or rotating. It was tedious when nothing was really happening. But overall, the positives far outweigh the negatives.

If this is indeed a glitch of some kind, I would really like this to become an option. Did Riot make some kind of change to the game recently that I don't know about or is it really as I suspect, a glitch?
