Assassin Update: Akali

Hello everyone, I'd like to hear your opinions on the Akali update

Twin Disciplines (Passive) - [reworked into a two hit passive] Now gives Akali's next two attacks bonus effects (base values scale with lvl) then goes on cooldown. First strike restores 10-170 (+70% bonus AD) health. Her second strike (within 4 seconds) deals 14-70 (+45% AP) magic damage. Cooldown for empowered attacks is 8-5 seconds based on level.

I'm not sure how to feel about this, but I do think it's a neat change. I'll have to try it out.

Twilight Shroud (W) - Now teleports Akali to cast location and leaves a shroud where she was before. Range = 250 Cast time increased to .35 from .25 Duration changed to 4/5/6/7/8 seconds from 8 seconds at all ranks

The blink is really cool, but everything else about the W was nerfed. However, I do understand since pink wards no longer work against her. One feature of the W though that I don't like is that your enemies will know where you teleported to. They'll see a quick shadow of where Akali blinked to, I hope they remove this.

Crescent Slash (E) - Cooldown changed to 5/4.5/4/3.5/3 from 5/4/3/2/1 Damage changed: NEW: [70/100/130/160/190 (50% AP)(70% Bonus AD)] OLD: [30/55/80/105/130 (40% AP)(60% total AD)

I like these changes, more damage all round. Although less spammable later on, it does more damage.

Shadow Dash (R) - Damage changed to 50/100/150 (+25% AP) from 100/175/200 (+50% AP) Cooldown changed to 2 second at all ranks and is no longer affected by CDR from 2/1.5/1.

Pretty much just straight nerfs. But it does make up for the increased E damage and potentially the better passive, we'll have to see.

A strong champion getting hard changes that make her balanced. Wow why would they do that??

I think the changes are perfect to be quite honest. She was in a kind of strong place but this will put her back into the burst hybrid assassin again like she should be. RIght now she is just this spam fest blink blink blink near impossible champ to shut down. With little counter play if you don't see her picked BEFORE hand. She is just too strong a late pick atm and that is the major reason we don't see much play for her.

These changes should bring her more in line and probably still help her wreck shop.

I don't know how I feel about that passive. It seems so out of shape for what Akali is. A heal and then magic damage hit... I dunno, that doesn't seem to be too strong on her (I dunno how it will be in the main game.) I love the mini blink on her shroud and I love more damage on her E. But damn, she'll be weird to play at first again!

I main Akali since Season 2

After testing her out a lot on PBE her W feels terrible to use. I really hope they revert it to how it works right now. It's like the Q proc being taken away from her E all over again but a million times worse.

The R nerf was too much. CD lock and much less AP damage... I'm main Akali too

The passive I need more testing but seems balanced now (CD now updated to 4) W was reverted again to 0.25 thank you, we can jump walls now thats a good buff E less CD more damage, seems ok, early buff on lane, R that was too much, please add less cd or more damage, I tested vs bots and basically its just a jump, no damage at all...

the r nerf means she can barely pick off easy targets in a team fight before getting burst down(a little cc ), as for her passive a nice idea, i'd have it the other way round, dmg and then heal, going in and getting a heal when all you really want is the low life target dead(r being useless). her w seems out of place for her style , the blink is in my opinion worse then being able to choose its position and being able to plan ahead for a fight/ exit strategy. in conclusion for a relatively squishy champ (resistances wise) to expected to spend 4 - 5 seconds in a team fight making full use of her passive whilst trying to navigate a small range of her w seems a stretch, akali is a high risk champ targeting risky trade offs that often leave her deep behind enemy lines but now it seems a fair trade is difficult to perform. why go akali when you can pick a superior champ like diana for example.Well that's how i feel at least, not being a master of akali before or after this update.
