Turrets and how to make them actually a bit relevant without breaking the game

Now, while I do understand that come later in the game, and even in mid game to some extent turrets become objectives that you need to defend, it would be nice if they weren't completely useless at helping to clear out waves and prevent dives.

My solution is simple, have the turrets gradually become stronger the closer to the nexus they are. So, outer turrets stay the same, inner turrets become 10% better in every way than outer, inhibitor turrets are 10% in every way then the inner turrets, and nexus turrets are 10% in every way then the inhibitor turrets.

Now, the ten percent is just an idea, pretty sure that Riot can figure out a balanced number themselves, but I believe this will be a welcome change, because at the moment a single wave of super minions can completely destroy your nexus turrets if left unchecked, and I think that's kind of ridiculous.

I sort of think that knowing when to clear your base out is just part of getting better at the game, choosing whether to defend or keep going depending on the situation. But turrets feel pretty much useless when clearing out waves past early game..but players should be the main thing clearing instead of turrets.

Yeah, the end of your suggestion is just kinda what low elo players would clearly need. They may not know whether to defend their base whereas higher elos know most of the time what the best way to deal with a situation that is inside their base. Also, this would make games longer and farming under turrets would be kinda awkward because farm is a pretty deciding factor on stuff like grades at the end of the game.
