I played gnar recently and i went 16/1/17, I had the longest killstreak and multi kill in game but I also did the most damage to champs, most gold made, and 2nd most assists in game.(my ults were also really sexy) The thing that made me mad was not only I didn't get an S+, I got an A.... Not even an A+ just an A.
Did you upgrade trinket?
You didn't ward or upgrade your trinket. Buying wards and upgrading your trinket is an important action helping your team. Chances are, many of the wards your team (particularly Braum and Yasuo) put down saved you from being killed and helped you get the kills.
Frankly, if you don't participate in the vision game, you don't deserve S rank. Full stop.
Wards are OP. 8 wasn't enough :P Also no trinket upgrade.
I went 12/0/4 ahri game only lasted 25 mins only got S
The rank depends not only on your KDA, but your CS and objective control (it counts assists/kills in towers/drags etc). If you have high cs/min, good kda and are getting assist/kill on most objectives, u will usually get S+. They base the rank off how everyone does with the champion. They most also likely count things such as champion damage etc but if u have good kda and are contributing, you most likely have good damage etc already.
