Yi isn't the low elo stomper that people think he is. Past silver 3 you need at least half decent jungle knowledge and general game knowledge to actually win games with him. The Yis you occasionally see going 30-0 or such are most certainly smurfs. Yi has roughly 50% winrate in bronze and below 50% in gold xD

What bothers me more is that champs like Riven Draven Jayce are allowed to stomp both low and high elos alike - mechanical skill requirement is irrelevant to me.

I don't even understand what you're trying to say here...

Generally I feel riot is giving some mechanically intensive champions more raw power than specific simple ones. Any of the aforementioned champions will stomp high elo games more regularly than Yi ever would - which is said to be a trade-off for Yi being a low elo stomper. What's hilarious is that those champions are also notorious low elo stompers when Yi in reality isn't (winrates-wise).

Verdict: Yi is a weak champion that needs actual buffs or just reverting his 6.8 nerfs.

Sion Bard would disagree with you.

If you analyze Yi's winrate stats it turns out people don't put in the work to learn how to play him. 98% of ranked Yi is played by people with less than 50 games of him. meanwhile, his winrate for 50 games or less is dramatically lower than his winrate for 50+ games. like 50 is literally where you get good at Yi according to the stats, and yet 98% of people give up before that.

The stats say Yi has a lot of untapped potential. That's the conclusion I draw when you have 2% putting in the work to strategize the champion, and 98% complaining.

the reason why it is that way is because low elo dont know how to close off games lol

why play darius when the enemy team doesnt know how to group? pick late game champ for freelo

MasterYi stomps low Elo with Crit builds.

MasterYi dont have a real damage skill other than Q, he is all autos like ADCs.

They cant nerf him as he is without nerfing Crits, unless they really overnerf him too much so that no matter what he builds he will still be useless, even when getting Crits which are the biggest damage multiplier in game.

This or rework him.
