So I just played a game as xin zhao top vs aatrox top, at minute 4 the enemy jungle volibear came to my lane and setup a tent in the middle bush in top lane, I had it warded so I knew he was there and I waited till I hit 6 to put another ward to see if he was still there (this was about 1 minute after my other ward died) and he engaged on me so I stayed at my turret waiting for them to push up and at this point I was 36 cs to his 68, voli stayed top for another few minutes (in total he spent about 5 minutes top before he left, not exaggerating either). Then when I think I'm safe I get ganked by voli and enemy lux under my tower and die, lose tower, aatrox starts roaming etc.. So in this 6-7 min long camp early on I only died 1 time but I was behind so much that I couldn't do anything at this point, so I'm wondering how would you play out this camp and how could I have done better to not lose so hard. (also note my team didn't get dragon or shove bot/mid etc so there was basically no pressure anywhere)

Also I did ask for help from my jungle and told him to get dragon or help bot to pressure a bit but he wouldn't listen, I'm not trying to blame him for this but I'm just wondering what I did wrong in this situation..

well falling behind in CS cant be helped. as long as you are able to get the experience from the dying minions, you are fine.

if you die to a gank once and it really couldnt be avoided by you flashing earlier or whatnot, then thats okay. if you then later on get dived from full hp by 3 champs, nothing you can do except predict the dive and leave the tower, but sometimes thats not possible.

but if you had a ward on volibear so that YOUR ENTIRE TEAM could see him on the minimap for 5 minutes then you did everything right and all fault is on your team for this.

there is no way you can win a 2on1 or even 3on1 except by getting the exp and not dying. like seriously if volibear spends 3 minutes top he soaks experience from his toplaner for 3 minutes only to deny you GOLD but not EXP while he doesnt get gold and many levels himself. this means at minute 10 (because when your tower fell, you said it was about minute 10) he will be like what? level 6? against level 10. now your tower is down and aatrox starts roaming and if your jungler is good, he is level 10 with 1,5 full items and no matter who comes down from toplane now, he will be so strong he can 1on3 them easy.

OR! he will snowball his lanes very hard by during the time volibear doesnt participate in the game.

if he did neither of that, nothing you can do. its not your responsibility.

Good explanation, thanks for this, I asked this question mostly because of how annoying the game was but getting your reply made me happier.
