Mastery Tokens and Twisted Treeline?
Is there any reason we can't get them? If I only play Twisted Treeline, why can't I get mastery 7 on Kayn?

Because SR favoritism.
Seriously, Riot's official reasoning was that Champ Mastery 6/7 should require a high competitive standard, which by itself is generally reasonable. However, they followed up that statement by enabling tokens in Normal SR games, but not Ranked TT games. That conflicts with every other official Riot position in which ranked is considered more competitive than unranked games and Normal SR is considered relatively casual. The changes to API access a while back highlighted the absurdity of this contradiction when Ranked TT was competitive enough for public data, but not Mastery tokens, and Normal SR was competitive enough for tokens, but not data.
If a "high competitive bar" is essential for high Champion Mastery, then tokens should be enabled for all ranked queues and only ranked queues. On the other hand, if unranked SR games continue to be eligible for tokens, then all (permanent) unranked queues should have tokens as well. Going "some ranked queues, but not others, and some unranked queues, but not others" is just completely counter-intuitive and illogical.
