Gain Honor with Free Champion Rotation?

I'm at Honor 3 like many of you. I want to try out a free champion this week. Does anyone know if you still earn honor and capsule drops using champions in the free champion rotation?

You don't get any loot from champions you don't own. I believe you can still earn honor though as that is based off your performance in game.
