how often do you see a "bruiser" who;

A) can only play in a duo lane/with an ally without losing out on maximum potential

B) has abilities reliant on things they don't have, i'm supposed to hit the enemy with my q THREE TIMES with this atrocious attack speed and lack of cc this guy is a visionary

C) shifted so far from being a "binary" champion that he can literally be played in only one lane effectively and stems maximum potential from squatting till 6 and dumping on his level 4 enemies/taking dragon no alternative options are provided without the punishment of losing a skill and a half (ult passive as well as w because of dragon control bot)

There are literally 0 viable alternative forms of play considering the gravity of these changes, congratulations on mangling my favorite champion, the way you ignore his playerbase and push the changes ahead, spot on, keep it up man.

Speaking in absolutes is an easy way to be wrong.

The whole point about new mordekaiser is not to itemize to do more damage, but to itemize to do the damage in your kit. Trinity + Rylai's makes it so you can catch basically anyone not named Kalista. Will it take a while to scale? Yup. Thats the point, because he does insane amounts of damage when he gets to you.

He's a bit like a teamfight-oriented Nasus.

...I mean, why would you put that kind of damage on someone who could actually pull it off reliably? Seriously, that is the ENTIRE point. It sucks if you can't land it, aye, but it can literally oneshot people on the third hit with any other assistance. It would be far more broken if he actually had CC, and that's not even counting the Rylai's he'll always build.
