The worse thing about this season...
Thunderlord. Look, I like the idea of the new masteries. Masteries like stormraider, warlords/fervor, windspeaker and strength of ages are great; they make champions better at things they already do and are strategic: being slippery, dishing out gradually increasing auto damage, healing/shielding, being tanky.
They don't skew the game like thunderlord does, specially early. They start weak and scale slowly. Thunderlords makes champions bursty. Any champion that is capable of attacking an enemy champion, which is EVERY champion. It makes champions good at things they're not supposed to be. It makes already bursty champions even more prone to 100 to 0 people before they can press any buttons, which is not good in a strategy game.
The other day I was playing kayle mid against zed, neither has a kill yet, we're lv 5, I had 80% of my health, close to tower. Elise comes in and lands a stun, they have less than 1 sec of free damage on me. Last season I would have had time to throw a quick heal and flash away if I reacted fast enough. But this season, they both get thunderlord procs so i'm dead before the stun wears off. Sure, the same thing could have happened to zed if I got a gank, so it's not a I died qq comment, it's that I don't like how bursty everyone is with this stupid mastery.
It changes the game dynamic too much. Everyone is more bursty, and it's a very EASY burst, you don't have to do anything different, if you go all in it will proc, people don't really "play around it". Champs just get effortless extra damage in trades. This leaves less room for error, less room for counter play and reaction. It's made the game less strategic and more snowbally. When one of the options is "extra bunch of instant damage everytimeyou trade", it's it becomes the overwhelming choice, no wonders it's 7-10 picks in every game.
It doesn't need a nerf it needs to be **removed **and replaced with a more strategic mastery that falls more along the lines of the other keystones, that isn't good in every champ in every situation and scales slowly. If it's going to be extra damage it should not be instant and so easy to proc.
Excuse me?
