Ideas about Syndra and Karthus
Hi! I have a few ideas and thoughts about Syndra and Karthus. It's motly Karthus, but you can apply this to Syndra aswell. So I'll start with setting the picture.
You are Karthus jungle and you have cleared your botside jungle and you decide to back. Now, you are a moron so you don't realise that it's 35 min into the game and baron is up and your teammates are heading to baron to contest cuz the enemy team is doing it. So what do you do as Karthus in base when your team gets turned on and is going to lose the teamfight? Well, you go super saiyan and you smash that R key and you magically win the teamfight with a triple kill. Now, this has happened to me multiple times and I personally think that it is complete BS. Karthus ult is complete BS.
So my idea is to change it so that it is not a global ult anymore, give it a limited range like a Kaisa ult. And make it so that the base damage is not as high, not nearly as high. Karthus ult promotes skill less play. You can be terrible at the game and the champion, but it doesn't matter cuz you just have to press R. I think that this game should reward skill. So how do we do this? Well, we give his R a scaling, and this scaling comes from how much damage he has dealt to that champion in a certain amount of time. Imagine his ult having the range of a Kaisa ult. Every enemy inside this area will be hit by it, but the base damage is way lower, so Karthus actually has to do something and use his kit to hit Q's, and then he can use his ult for alot of damage to finish off the enemies. You probably have to make him able to move when casting his ult, but make it so that he can't attack while casting the R.
I'm not sure if this is the best way, but I think that Karthus ult is so dumb and it's insanely frustrating to play against, and just laughable when you're the Karthus. I would like to see some sort of system like I suggested to promote skill, and to take away his insane levels of BS.
Now to Syndra, it's basically the same concept. Idk about you but it's pretty lame to lane vs Syndra, dodge her skills but then she says screw it and presses R and bursts you into oblivion. Lower the base dmg of her ult, and make it so that it scales depending on how many spells she has hit on the champion. Now if you just press R on an enemy, you will not deal alot of dmg. But if you combo properly, you will be rewarded for your skill and your ult will now deal even more dmg than it already does. Also, now you have the real option of using your ult only to get a massive AOE stun, or use it for dmg after your combo. Now there's a tradeoff and you have to think about it.
I think that if Riot would change these 2 ults to something similar like I suggested, skill would be rewarded, and it would be more fair for the opponent. And it would leave more room for trading and fighting and outplaying. What do you guys think? I'm not saying that what I suggested is perfect, but it's a basic framework.
