So this doesn't apply to every marksmen but I've seen a few Jhin's and Graves players go mid and they're wave clear seems to be pretty good, a lot of times to the point where it's even better than mages. Is this a problem or am I just crazy? :P

Depends on the Mage. And the ADC. Malz might have the best CS in the game. Any of the 
ADC's will likely suffer.
All depends on champion to be honnest. Yes Graves has better waveclear than Kennen or Rumble or Lissandra. But Viktor, Ziggs, Xerath, Brand, Orianna have better than Graves.
