Counters to Ahri

I've recently picked up Ahri and I was wondering if anybody could tell me which champions would cause a problem for her in mid. I've played against a Katarina three times already. The first time, I was rather overconfident since she is melee and I figured that I could harass her with my Q when she tries to farm. Unfortunately, this wasn't exactly the case. The second time, I was outlaned and the third time we kind of tied, neither of us getting the upper hand. Then again, perhaps I just suck.

It would be great if someone would inform me of the champions Ahri would have a problem with. Thank you~

i think brand counters her pretty heavily

She doesn't do well against champs that can shut down her mobility, can easily out-range her, or just dodge her attacks. In general, they're stronger than her before she hits 6.

Xerath Ziggs Pantheon Syndra Fizz are some easy ones.

It's possible to out-play most of them, though. You just have to be careful and not try anything risky before you hit 6.

As a past Ahri main, the champion I've always had a problem with is Lissandra

This girl can stand behind the minion ways for days, spamming q and pushing Ahri to the tower, completely invulnerable to charms if she plays it right. She also has a point in click counter to Ahri's ult. Frozen Tomb will keep her from jumping around, and Lissandra has enough damage to kill her just a a much as Ahri has to kill Liss, which is only possible if she hits a charm.

A funny story. It was a Zhonyas standoff, and after the invulnerability, Liss castes her q and her w before Ahri could even cast her charm.
