Tahm Kench's lane feels unsatisfying.

In teamfights he seems alright. In lane he's completely lackluster. His only form of initiation is getting 3 stacks on his passive, then Q+W'ing them. It seems unlikely that any intelligent lane opponent will actually let him stack 3 times. Because he's a melee without a gapcloser, pretty much every stack of his passive will come from his Q. In order to not have to literally flash onto a target, he has to hit 4 Qs in a row. To pull off such a feat, he destroys his mana bar - just for one single target initiation.

I think Riot might have stacked too much utility into his W, so his mobility and other skills have to be toned down to accommodate it.

I might need to play him more, but he just doesn't seem that strong in lane and is only passable in teamfights. What do you guys think?

His devour can be absolutely essential to teamfights. That 3 stack passive keeps people pressured in lane letting him do more.

I still feel like Tahm's better suited for jungle / support. Yeah he could probably top lane, but Shen seems to outclass him with having better harass along with a global ult as opposed to Tahm's big-but-not-global-range ult.
