azir needs some love

i don't see azir being played at all. i think he should be flipped over to being a energy based champion because he is so mana heavy!

with energy being a major buff for Azir i feel like a good debuff for his kit would be removing the turret bomb in his w

also his second passive needs some work.

here is some ideas for that

  1. splash damage and a slow
  2. small damage buff and a beam of some sort
  3. 1/3 reduced Cooldown

i would like to see this champion rise out of his sandy grave!

I main Azir. I disagree with your suggestions.

  1. I just rush Catalyst and buy a mana pot both at the start and again at my first back. No more mana problems.
  2. He really doesn't need to be energy-based. He's also a sustained champion, so the idea of him being energy-based wouldn't work very well... He'd become more bursty.
  3. He's already oppressive in-lane at levels 2-3. What he could realistically use is a bit of damage at level 4-6 or so to give him a touch more kill pressure which would enable him to really roll into his lategame. Probably the best way to do this would be to buff damage from stabbing with multiple soldiers from 125/150% to 130/160%. A slight buff, yes, but it's the very sort of buff that won't kick in until those levels, meaning that 2-3 won't be any worse for your opposition. It also means that all-ins will now go slightly more in Azir's favor, so if someone jumps on him, he's more likely to survive.
  4. If Azir gets behind, he has a tendency to stay that way. That's not really a terrible thing. He is a hypercarry after all. But getting back into the game can be difficult for him even if things go well after laning. Given that the aforementioned buff would increase his mid and late game power somewhat, it would give him that extra touch of kill pressure that he often needs to recover.

As much as I would love to see some buffs to Azir, making him energy doesn't cut it, and would actually limit him further. Lower the cd on his E so repositioning is easier for Azir, someone who is heavily reliant on positioning.

I think he´s fine right now. His Lategame is still terryfying and he still is a very capable control-mage that has a lot of tools to shape a fight in his teams favour. His laningphase already is very strong and he really should have the weakness of going oom on one point, otherwise you end up getting pushd in 24/7 by him just as happens when facing Zed.

idk why people think azir's lane is oppressive. if he uses his Q to harass just walk out of soldier range and murder his ass because he does zero damage if you leave soldier range and he doesnt have the CDs to move them again til he has morello

He's fine for normal games, but he's not that great for ranked unless you're absolutely positive Azir can work with your team comp and can't get countered too hard by anyone on the enemy team. You still get kinda shit on though even against picks you supposedly counter because your early game is utter garbage, and his damage doesn't even remotely compare to the damage of every other midlaner in the meta right now until at least lvl 11. So you are out-damaged and out-ranged by most champions people are playing right now, and people will love to camp your lane because they assume Azir is a free lane (which it usually is unfortunately).

I just think he needs SOME damage given back to him, or greater range on his garbage Q. The Q nerf is starting to really frustrate me, because Azir needs it for more than just repositioning. It's a huge part of his poke (actually it's his only real poke), and it's outdamaged and out-ranged by most other midlaners' Q abilities (pretty sad that Ahri's Q is actually longer than yours, I guess they're considering the pierce through range of the spears, except they nerfed that too, so...). Without the reliability of his poke it's incredibly difficult to actually get targets low enough to safely engage them with your full combo. If you engage too soon you die - plain and simple. They need to give him a little bit more burst simply so that he can compete with the other popular midlaners right now, because you can entirely forget about doing well in lane against Leblanc, Zed, or even Annie, who can literally zone you for whole minutes because her stun is an easy way for her to drop you to half health (literally, if someone sneezes on you you basically die), and your range/dmg is actually not even impressive enough to keep her at bay. And that's just Annie.

Doesn't really make sense to me how Riot bends ass backwards to make a champion like Cassiopeia broken beyond broken, with huge damage at lvl 3 on, great sustain, and incredible scaling, but Azir just gets nerfed to shit because "late game hyper carries can't also be lane bullies." I guess unless you're Cassiopeia... Doesn't help that his soldiers still bug out every game and your wall never goes in the direction you actually point it. Bravo, Rito.

If they just changed the range of his soldiers auto's again, I would be content with that.
