Was looking through reddit and one person complained about Maokai's point click root in his kit. Would changing it to a medium ranged skillshot that roots on first enemy champion in the skillshot's path be a decent change? Thought about including minions and neutral mobs, but could damage his effectiveness in lane. Of course the speed at which he travels would have to be tweaked a multiple times.

Everything shouldn't be point->click easy as well. Especially on a tank that has the ability to take reduced damage, decent base damage on q, %hp root, and gaining health during teamfights just by autoattacking.

Well, when a tank that is able to dish out a good amount of damage and still be very tanky has a point-click root. Something should be changed to balance it out. It's either nerfing the items these tanks are building and abusing or change something in their kit. Especially a point click root ability. No clue on how much you value roots, but I sure know they are an effective form of cc to use on targets. Having them as a point-click ability is too easy for the person using said champion.
Are you afraid of these easily used abilities being permanently removed from the game and league's skill floor increasing?
