Ranked game restrictions are a tad severe
Originally posted this in GD, but figured it would be of more value here. Anyways:
Before I start, let me preface this by saying it's a fantastic idea. Restricting people's ranked game mode access because they were toxic/afk'ed/etc does help, it definitely has cut down quite a bit of the trolls in ranked. However, there are a few huge, glaring flaws that make it in actuality a horrible system.
You have to win your games. The lowest ranked game mode restrictions I've ever seen is 35. Let's just be reasonable and assume a 50% winrate. That's 70 normal mode games you have to play before you can play ranked again.
Well, whatever, 70 games isn't that bad, right? Wrong. They can only be normal 5X5 Draft mode normals. Nothing else counts. You want to do ARAM? Nope. You want to do Dominion? Nope. How about testing out the new gamemode, Black Market Brawlers which is draft in the style you ban? Still no. Well, how about teambuilder? lol no.
None of these gamemodes count towards removing the restrictions? Why? Why must I be forced to play ~70 games of DRAFT mode only? I understand that's the setup ranked has, but my IRL friends and I LOVE the Teambuilder system, and for as hard as you guys (Riot) tried to push that system, you would think you would allow it to reduce the number of ranked restriction games.
Chat restrictions are already handled like this. Whether you win or lose, as long as you complete a game, bam, there's one chat restriction done. So why not ranked restrictions? I'm all for leaving the winning component in there, after all it gives you something to try for; the more games you win, the faster you'll be back in ranked. But at least make it where I have a tiny bit of freedom to choose the gamemode I want to play.
Any/all suggestions/feedback are welcome
