Alistar headbutt into Azir wall

So is this supposed to happen: Azir used his ult and created his wall of men. During the duration of the wall, Alistar used headbutt to knock me into the wall. Instead of going over it, or hitting it and stopping, I was knocked up. Is this intentional and if so does it apply to other abilities that would knock back?
